Putin: Poland Wanted to Buy Russian Gas a Little Cheaper from Germany via Reverse

Poland closed the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline not only because of politics, it wanted to buy Russian gas from Germany at a slightly cheaper reverse. These are the reasons given by Russian President Vladimir Putin, as quoted by RIA Novosti.

“Here Poland took and closed Yamal-Europe. Put it under sanctions. For political reasons. But not only. It turns out that Poles were buying gas from us at a higher price than the Germans. They closed the Yamal-Europe pipeline, but started buying our gas in Germany by reverse. A little cheaper than from Gazprom,” he explained. The Germans, receiving cheap fuel, began to sell it to the Poles “a little bit more expensive,” Putin said.
