1. If there’s one thing I’ve learned from the Kaito files, it’s “ah…Yagami…😩💦”

  2. Nobody playing Lei is just a made up lie at this point, Add him to the base roster for free and then let's talk playrate.

  3. Yes it's been a parroted incorrect opinion for a long time. Lei's pick rate was barely under the median for T7 in online play, and he was in the top half of picked characters in major tournaments. He is far from "nobody plays him"

  4. The combat changes are fantastic as well. Daze is less frequent so it feels more impactful and rewarding to store your skill energy for those multi chain combos. It is also now much harder to react to red and yellow flashes, so you must watch enemy animations as opposed to previously you could just mash until you saw the flashes, then parried/dodged. Pretty much all the changes made combat feel more like you were intentionally engaging with the mechanics, previously they felt seemingly random.

  5. Don't forget that coffee shop is a huge part of the game, as it offers an additional 60 energy as well as a combat/farming buff every day.

  6. Yeah... Hot take but I really think this game should be F2P. I don't have issues with the "high level" meta and how the game functions with better players. Every game has unfun tactics at high level, so I don't really fault the devs if balancing it is difficult. I really just think the game needs a playerbase for matchmaking at all skill levels. I don't even have a hard time winning, I sit at round 25%. I just feel bad for newcomers and friends who tried to start playing.

  7. I'm glad more and more players are reaching this conclusion. There needs to be an influx of beginner players that can progress together if the game ever has any hopes of surviving meaningfully (it's a great game, I'm rooting for it, too). This is only possible if the game becomes limited F2P (can't buy more than x agents or y cosmetics unless player purchases full version) so that more people can try the game out casually and get good before committing to the price tag. Free weekends and 50% sales don't cut it when there are much more popular games players have the choice of playing (Apex, Fortnite) without buying.

  8. I want this game to succeed more than anything. I've purchased the Black Tie edition, all the season catalogs, and a few bundles of IGC to spend in the shop. I truly love this game and I mean no downplay or ill intention against the devs for thinking it should be free. Purely just based on playerbase growth I feel like F2P would've been the way to go.

  9. Meh. Character "power" doesn't really matter until purple ranks imo

  10. I'm in the boat that tier lists don't even matter unless it's pro play... Online play is just knowledge checks, not differences between character strengths

  11. Same reason fighting games are fun. Learning curve and satisfying to improve as you keep playing.

  12. What’s the context here? Why’s everyone D-Tier? Anyone got the link to the mentioned tier list? Aren’t most of those buff already in-game like since the beginning? I’m so confused

  13. Bro is playing an alternate dimension version of the game, and by the looks of it they're not doing well over there

  14. I'm kind of waiting on more characters. But as far as standard banner goes, I'm definitely rerolling for Lycaon :3

  15. Lycaon was my favorite in CBT2. His animations are stellar

  16. I play a really basic Steve, I punish most things with 112 into duck. If it hits I’ll check them with machine gun punches - which will beat any button and is safe if you don’t do the last hit and easily hit confirmable. If they respect it and don’t press anything, I’ll go into full crouch df1 and then apply peekaboo pressure.

  17. Love layered gameplan breakdowns like this. Thanks a bunch for writing this out!

  18. I just think California roll went hard. That’s it, really. Watching pros Cali roll in their opponents’ faces in tournaments was the same energy as Mishima wavu wavu. Just oddly satisfying, no explanation necessary.

  19. Did you just call Cali Roll by its government official name

  20. I believe if you've signed up in the past, you should still be in the next drawing. There are some optional new survey questions that could help you receive an invitation. Either way, you can check your application status by visiting

  21. Most of the people enjoying the game are too busy playing it to post here. I frequented this sub often before release and now rarely interact here because I got stuff to lab!

  22. For real?! Then that means Taichi Suzuki in Infinite Wealth is actually Kiryu! /s

  23. I just try to pretend this never happened, because it’s so out of line with who the character otherwise is…. Biggest writing error in judgment in the entire series. Like a serious “wtf were they thinking?”

  24. Been doing Hapkido for 3 years thanks to Lei Wulong and Jackie Chan. Not exactly their fighting style but a large part of the basis, as well as Jackie Chan's first black belt.

  25. For the listed "combos", would it possible to use different colors? I'm red-green colorblind and it's hard to tell which combos are easy, intermediate, or hard since they look almost the same.

  26. Hi, I received an email about this from another user a bit ago. I'm still researching for the best colors to change to, but it's planned!

  27. Makes sense to not at more since they're pretty basic and it's kinda fun to keep snooping around but I guess for example in the Asuka guide there's a section like this:

  28. Some of these actually bring up the extensions, some do not. They're originally written by a large number of varying users so the quality of the descriptions is not consistent across the board. On future revisions I'll try to include notations for the extensions as well as their uses.

  29. Fujin with Victor. I definitely feel like I can climb a bit more, but I'm taking a break to learn other characters as I wait for my main.

  30. One more talking point: you gain more points than you lose for a long time, and you can't demote until you're at least Warrior.

  31. I remember this was the shit in highschool, im worried to rewatch tho cause it might be cringe now and i dont want that to stain the glory that was the high school filthy frank times

  32. The skit videos with friends aged well, since they mostly consist of absurdist humor. The rant videos, however, not so much.

  33. Is he even that good, aside of unbreakable generic throws and knowledge checking?

  34. He's solid mid tier. Bad or high-risk lows, punishable on almost every string. Great damage and mids though.
