Yes: I set everything to 2.2. I check it in QuickTime but only to make sure it doesn’t look offensively bad. If it does look truly terrible I might tweak it a little. But when push comes to shove I trust my reference display, not my Apple displays.
I see, I'll give your method a try as well. Thank you. I have one question though. Is there a difference between starting grading with RCM and using color transforms in nodes? How do you set up your method, and I'm curious if you set the gamma tag separately in advanced settings.
I use RCM, which is surprisingly controversial on this subreddit. Like I said, I’m not a superstar or anything, in fact I’m more of a photographer than a colorist, so I don’t have experience with the more advanced panels.
Anyone with a spoon can tell within seconds. If you hit a solig piece of hold it'll make a distinct sound that is the exact same every time and can easily be measured and controlled even with your phone.
I like it, and I subscribed. Always happy to support indie developers! My one request would be a "balcony seat" option at the same distance from the screen (front, middle, back) but at a higher height. I like the size of the screen from the front row, but I'm not so into craning my neck back!
Glad to hear it! And another +1 vote for proper HDR (especially Dolby Vision) support & Dolby Atmos. Not sure how deep down the rabbit hole with video codecs you're willing to go, but 4K Blu-rays use a different kind of Dolby Vision (so-called "Profile 7") and a different kind of Dolby Atmos (TrueHD-based) than streaming services do (Profile 8 and Dolby AC3) so finding a player that properly supports those would be a Godsend. The TrueHD support is more important than the profile 7 support because the DV profile can be converted (
They almost always mean it as a compliment, so I always smile and respond with "Thanks, but the last thing on my mind is a second job!" I like to think it's polite, definitive, and often relatable. People usually respond with an anecdote of their own where they tried to take on more work than they wanted, which keeps the conversation flowing.
For your specific requirements, I would suggest running an FTP server locally on your Graphene OS phone and connecting the camera to your phone's mobile hotspot. Check this out
Can’t you generate a local WLAN hotspot without sharing your mobile data? I mean in the extreme case, you simply disable mobile data link before connecting the camera.
Looks great! At the risk of overcomplicating things, I've love for all these calculators to have an "anamorphic squeeze" option. My hangup for most tools is that it's cumbersome to calculate DoF for anamorphic lenses. It would also be handy for the "equivalent focal length" calculator too, as most anamorphic lenses seem to be designed for Super 35.
I haven't personally tried this, but my expectation is that we'll need to use proprietary Dolby tools to get the audio into a bitstream that we can use MP4Box to mux with our spatial video. I imagine the workflow would look something like this:
This assumes the source is a blu-ray disc format to then make MKVs. I'm working with .MTS videos that need to be converted and MakeMKV doesn't handle individual files like that.
Yes, I agree with you. I simply find Steve Jobs, the creator of Mac, unpleasant.

I shoot raw only for a few reasons:
Are you asking about the new
This is the nature of the beast. In fact, how far of an underexposure one can recover from is a key component of CineD's "lab test":
Dude, the streets closures and traffic annoy me too but to say there was no warning….? There was ample warning on multiple jumbo signs for weeks

As far as I'm aware, there's only one:

Found this video on YouTube demonstrating the difference in sound:

+1 for Play Pro Studio.
This video should be in the sidebar. It gets asked so many times this question lol
We should also pair it with this, which I thought was a little more digestible:
Will there a one-time perpetual purchase option?
Yes. You can try it for free, to test if your video works. If it’s OK for you, you pay a $4.99 one-time purchase.
Sorry I meant for MV Converter on macOS.

I’m definitely building this into the next environment, but let me sit with this for a minute and I’ll see what I can do.

How do you actually add it as an input method to the AVP? Is there an app that lets an Android device pretend to be a BT keyboard?

Connecting to a phone whether via mobile hotspot or a common wifi network would still expose the camera to the internet, which I'm trying to avoid.

What resolution? What bitrate? What CPU architecture? What operating system? What framerate? How many background processes?

Guide for using Apple Vision Pro as HDMI display
Yes, this has been possible since Day 1, albeit NDI boxes remain pretty expensive.
See steps here:

In that case it should all still work, you just need to extract the MVC bitstream in step 2 from your MTS file rather than an MKV file.
