right but many of the Heterometrus species are commonly called "Asian Forest Scorpions", it doesn't always refer exclusively to H. spinifer. this is one of the times where common names aren't the most accurate or helpful

I’m currently unmedicated because I can’t sleep for the life of me on meds. I definitely wouldn’t recommend it, though. I feel like I’m back where I was before starting them.

ive never been on meds 🙃 i really want to but they can cause seizures and i have a seizure disorder Nd even w my antiseizure meds i still get them sometimes. my neuro and psych agree that i just need to tough it out because i already have some permanent damage from entering status epilepticus

thanks for answering! im thinking about grabbing it as it'll be my first bones ever (i live in a big city) but if i dont keep it i'll bury it. it was just the skull, the body was nowhere to be seen and unfortunately the street i live on is home to someone who kills cats and leaves them on the street. one was shot, still in the position they enter when theyre scared. even found a puppy with its head nearly decapitated :( no one ive called seems to care

when i was 16 i was in a horrible manic episode, i was dating this girl on and off at the time and i broke up with her because i liked someone else, this someone else fed into my delusions and told me i was a god and i believed her so it made my delusions even worse and i was convinced i could see signs in music, videos, movies, books, etc.

What were your earliest symptoms? And did you start to think you might be undiagnosed or did it take another person to point it out?

my earliest symptom was voices in my head.

Additional note: I also saw her preening and scratching her butt after the second substrate change, if that gives any further context.

She is, she actually just got up and walked around the tank after I posted this. (I’m not kidding, I got up and walked to the kitchen and when I came back she was taking a short constitutional.)

my first tarantula was a pinktoe and he was great, super calm, but if he got spooked he would run or jump. they get spooked easily. i really recommend getting a curly hair. i have two ones a juvenile and the other is a bit bigger and both are extremely handleable.
