1. Amazingly Walton Woods is near work for me! Its great and it never occurred to me to go on the weekends. I forgot about the north side of Glen Park which is really good too.

  2. Tons on the Niagara River, can be seen from Beaver Island state park…..

  3. yup, I saw a pair yesterday at Niawanda in the river near the ampitheater

  4. If anyone wants to read more about how the Apollo program dove into the relationship between automated systems and human piloted systems, there’s a great GREAT book called Digital Apollo. I really recommend it.

  5. Another great book about the Apollo Guidance Computer is Sunburst and Luminary by Don Eyles, a memoir which nicely covers the technical side of designing and coding AGC, the missions (including Apollo 11's descent program alarms and Apollo 14's faulty abort button), and the technical culture at the time.

  6. I should clarify, it’s the path on the train bridge that connects unity island to Niagara st in black rock. Miles from Lasalle and not really even near Broderick! Just hope it reopens soon

  7. Thanks for the heads up! I couldn't find any news online about this closure, and it's not on google maps. I really like the trail on Unity Island, I'll have to remember the detour when I'm biking next spring

  8. If you want to try changing the road and water names as rendered, just as a proof of concept: The tileserver uses the openstreetmap-carto map style, which it has under /data/style/.

  9. You're welcome, glad to hear! osm-tags-transform is a good way to do it.

  10. I've been really happy with Amclare, on Hopkins in Amherst. Dr Olson has been there forever, and always takes great care of my and my parents' pets. No upsells either, they'll point out when supplies are cheaper on Chewy.

  11. In this vein also the SkyMall catalog that was in almost every single airplane. Disappeared a few years ago. Apparently the company still exists but as a shadow of its former self, sold multiple times and gone through bankruptcy. It was last sold for under $2 million.

  12. ACKSHUALY a 1996 Accord would have the F22B engine, which is a SOHC, non-VTEC, cast iron engine made for fuel economy lol

  13. I'm really glad Nick can talk to friends about it. Their Uni advice/perspective is also good for him to hear

  14. My brother & I had dinner at a really good teriyaki place. Would love to go back but they had 3 TV's on, all on different channels & all had the volume turned on. In addition to that they also had music playing. It was so annoying I've never gone back.

  15. Another old person thing: You can ask your server or a manager to turn down the TVs or switch the channel ("tv news stresses me out and i'm here to have a good time" or whatever) and a lot of the time they'll actually do it

  16. There's good reasons some people are cynical, but I think yes.

  17. The point of the show is to give the young audiences a better and more positive look at sexuality and sexual topics. Sex is one of those. Kids and even young adults tend to have a pressure of loosing virginity, and penetration sex can be a trauma for lots of them as well. And the sex education at school isn’t that useful and clear. The point was made in the comic: sex is everything. Hj or not, they’re happy and in one of the pictures, Alice put Nick’s shorts on the bed. I think it’s a sign of they went there, just not the penetration. So. I think it’s a great message. Sex can be everything. And you don’t have to know. It’s fun after all as it should be

  18. Absolutely. They're enjoying this at their own pace, and it's great to see.

  19. The Buffalo History Museum on Elmwood has a bunch in their gift shop

  20. Awesome! Thanks for the info! It's interesting that renewable energy costs more there... I pay a little less for renewable energy in TX.

  21. Any time, glad to help! We're right next to Niagara Falls hydropower, so yeah you'd think it would be cheaper. Ah well :)

  22. This definitely doesn't work if your closest and only winery is over an hour away

  23. Only an hour away? Sounds like something fun to try on the weekend

  24. Most impressive! The system designs back then were so much more direct.

  25. I swear I saw a post on another sub asking for legal advise about a neighbor ruining their property with bamboo

  26. This is really cool! Nice features, and the UX looks great too.

  27. Oh yeah, was kind of a big deal among FAANGs a few years ago.

  28. Nice shot! I like how you included the edge of the intricate wing/back pattern

  29. Winter's arrived where I am, and it warms me up just looking at this :)
