1. A good therapist can help you solidify this understanding for yourself honey. What you did for that old couple was beautiful. You deserve every bit of love that they shared with you.

  2. Omg. This made me tear up and it's not even my post lol 🤎

  3. I have watched my usually pretty nice in-laws turn into absolute vultures when someone dies. It has been eye opening.

  4. People ask me all the time "what's the creepiest thing about working with dead people?" and my reply is always "the way the live ones turn into monsters."

  5. My neighbor is a physician and this is exactly what she and her family do; no Covid yet for any of them.

  6. We have had it twice, and it's horrible every time. I have heard about doing this, but I've never paid attention to it. I think I'm going to look into it because of this comment, actually, so thank you. I'm hoping there's an easy way to do it on a 7 year old 😑

  7. Omggggg it's incredibly helpful. I'm finding it challenging to explain this to people, and this is gonna help me immensely!

  8. Someone actually just recommended this to me today! How interesting to see a comment saying the same. It's a sign lol

  9. It works better than regular Pain killers/ opioids minus the horrible side effects. When i first took it, i cried tears of relief and joy. Literally. Oh, its also psychoactive, but in a really awesome way

  10. I smoke a lot of weed, so I'm down with the psychoactive thing hahaha. Thank you for the advice!

  11. According to the looks on their faces, you're clearly the problem cat.

  12. NTA. Sounds like yhey're not gonna have much of a choice when you up going on a much needed vacation. How much you wanna bet you'll come back and they'll have all sorts of help lined up for him because they're gonna get a taste of what you're going through?

  13. I stumbled across this post searching for tips on remote work too. Your situation humbled me, and I sincerely hope, from the bottom of my heart, that you find a job that allows you to love yourself. I think it's wonderful that you are already so dedicated to your growing family. I know you posted 3 months ago and you might not see this, but I do hope all is well and things are looking up. 🤎

  14. I worked two jobs, twelve shifts per week. I would go to my morning job from 6 am to 2 or 3 pm. Then I'd go to my night job from 5 pm to 11 pm or midnight. Six days a week. For two years. Sometimes you have to do what you have to do. It was miserable.

  15. I see now. I was super confused. I get it though, I was on call 24/7 for two years while I was picking up bodies for the coroner. It was exhausting, but it got me where I am.

  16. Something tells me the daughter and her baby making abilities aren't the only issue in this family. Jfc. I couldn't imagine not being supportive of my babies if they needed me, and turning to reddit for strangers to justify being shit parents and grandparents.

  17. Sudden changes in mood was a red flag for me. Long story short, after years of torture I was finally diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type. Not saying that's what you have at all, but I am saying that sudden changes like that are exhausting, and will create a cycle that's hard to escape without help.

  18. Be careful not to overthink. I have OCD and often find myself in these thought loops. Your thoughts don't have as much power as you think, so don't let them scare you like that. If you find yourself trying to "cancel out" thoughts with certain actions or other thoughts, and it's becoming disruptive, that means it's now a mental health problem that needs to be addressed.

  19. Omg imagining her standing up and crying for hours and sleeping sitting up absolutely breaks my heart. Sure, she needs to learn how to sleep, but that would have PISSED ME OFF. I would have literally been trembling with rage while watching the video. I actually left my first husband because he had a crippling video game addiction and literally could not be trusted to keep our kids alive while I was gone so this post got me. I'm so sorry you had to feel that anguish, mama. 🤎

  20. Never knew this was a fear of mine, and now I'm glad to know it's surv-eye-vable.

  21. If you're literally trying to be hypnotized to forget about being ghosted by a hypnotist, it seems like you may have an addiction, and they're trying to cut themselves off from it.

  22. Imagine getting fake tits, and then being mad your tits are fake.

  23. Pretty sure my hobby is trying to figure out my hobbies. Lol.

  24. It’s usually impossible for you to close a deceased person’s eyes or mouth.

  25. The secret to getting eyes and mouths closed at the funeral home so they have that sleeping look is us sewing the mouth shut and gluing the lips, and sticking eye caps under the eyes and gluing them shut. Or else yeah, they usually pop right open. Sometimes we get lucky though and the person actually looks like they're sleeping peacefully and we don't have to do a thing except dress them and do some light make-up.

  26. Apologies, I was speaking from a nurse perspective. Much respect to you guys🙏🏻

  27. Oh man, nurses have one hell of a job. There's NO WAY I could ever hold such a bad ass position like that and stay sane. I have comforted so many nurses that have felt the pangs of grief after losing one of their patients. In most of those cases they have told me through tears "I tried to close his eyes, but they would stay closed." and it's heartwarming to me that they care so much. Nurses don't get enough appreciation in my opinion. If you're a nurse, THANK YOU FOR BEING A LITERAL SUPERHERO.

  28. I have an understanding over the years I developed with spiders. Stay out of my way and I let you live.

  29. Why would you kill such a beautiful creature that wants no harm to come to you? They literally spend their whole lives trying to hide from the monsters humans are, only to be killed because someone has the audacity to think THEY'RE special enough to make a non-aggressive species turn into a cold blooded killer (which btw there hasn't been a death from a black widow bite in ages.)

  30. That's so good to hear! I apologize for the misunderstanding. I guess I'm so used to people killing them that I connected the "I'll let them live" and "but widows don't get a free pass." I feel like I'm on some sort of mission to save the widows 🤣

  31. Celexa saved my life. I dealt with side effects for a a year, but it was worth it because I saw little improvements here and there. Unfortunately, for me, I was actually undiagnosed schizoaffective bipolar so SSRI meds by themselves are a BIG no no for me. For someone who suffers from unipolar depression, though, it can be that candle in the distance that leads you out of the dark maze that depression puts you in. You gotta find the right ones, and it can prove to be as difficult as it sounds, but that fight in itself will also give you the strength and experience you need to survive such a horrible disorder. I didn't have much support when I started my mental health journey, but if you do have people in your corner, you're gonna be just fine. 🤎

  32. MAAAAN, if someone says "I'm not into black girls" then you don't want them in your life anyway, and that might even help you get over them.

  33. Yup, good advice. I just bought the ones that weren't flammable.

  34. Do you have any that you recommend? I'm about to flea bomb the hell out of my house, but want to get non flammable ones.

  35. I greatly dislike all the talk about "vibrations." Rocks have "vibrations," plants have "vibrations," like no, they don't. Rocks do not move. That's why they're rocks. Really early in my journey I got a PDF that talked about how "low vibrations" can cause all these physiological issues like headaches and blurred vision and ringing in the ears, and certain crystals and herbs could "raise your vibrations." I laughed so hard.

  36. Actually, atomically speaking, everything does vibrate, but I get whatcha mean. Lol.

  37. As I was reading this I was wondering if remote viewing was going to be mentioned. This is exactly what I do every single night, and if I manage to stay awake while focusing on the colors (lol,) I will actually start seeing scenes as clear as day. One time I saw a little boy looking through a window on a yacht as he was sailing with his dad, and another time I saw a lady handing her neighbor a sunhat over their backyard fence. I've done it several more times, but I can't remember what I saw right now. It's such mundane stuff, but it absolutely blows my mind. Once I start seeing the "scenes," I am much more awake and can actually consciously think about what I'm seeing for a few minutes before it turns back into the swirly colors. What a trip. I feel like I ran across this post for a reason.
