It's thermal (by touch but would also work with hot/cold water) but it may not work any more due to age or if she was kept in a hot or cold environment for an extended period of time. Your one looks like she may be stuck between both colours hence my suspicion that the feature may not be functional.

i THINK that the saran variants hair is a lot more vibrant as oppose to poly having dark shades that dont necessarily pop
