The main things from my experience are: 1) don’t be afraid to ask questions/ask for help and 2) be proactive/take initiative - if you don’t know what to do start cleaning something, if there’s something you don’t know how to do and everyone seem busy or no one’s around do your best.

In Australia that’s a common problem. People tie zip-ties to their bike helmets to “scare them off”

I’d cover it with dish soap and boiling water and put it in the oven on low. Then just wash it after with a sponge.
