  2. My brother in law worked for an airline in the 70ā€™s.My sister would fly with their 4 kids to visit us using stand by. Theyā€™d book 5 seats then cancel at the very last minute so stand by seats were available. I have no idea how they didnā€™t get charged a fee for the cancellation. It always worked.

  3. I usually started with a non-cartoon, Sky King. Then Tennessee Tuxedo, followed by Quick Draw McGraw, Fireball XL-5 or Jetsons or Mighty Mouse (on at the same time), Casper, Beany and Cecil, and then Bugs Bunny came on at noon. The last of the day was Bullwinkle at 12.30. I'm looking at my TV guide from 1964 that I somehow saved all of these years.

  4. This was similar to my Sat. lineup. I lived in southern Ontario and watched the Buffalo big three networks . Penny from Sky King was a girl who had adventures! To the non-cartoon shows Iā€™d add Roy Rogers and The 3 stooges. We ate Capā€™n Crunch, Lucky Charms,Sugar Crisp, Tricks, Kelloggā€™s variety pack -the bland cereals were always left over.

  10. I was in the day surgery section and Iā€™m pretty sure you had a relative there too. I could overhear what happened to your mom and itā€™s great to hear sheā€™s doing OK. I felt so bad for your relative who was wondering how your mom was doing. They were saying they had faith that she was being well looked after in the hospital and that you were there at her side.

  11. Yes, that was us! My Dad was having eye surgery. My mom wanted to be there to support him. She is still in hospital, and it will be a slow recovery, but she is getting excellent care. Head injuries are not to be taken lightly.

  22. In 10 th grade Home Economics we all had to make a dress. There were strict deadlines. Weā€™d model them for the class and then the teacher would sit at the front of the room and inspect them all while we worked. My friend modeled hers which looked great. The teacher gave her complements on it.. then a few of us sat at the back of the class, literally holding our breath to see what would happen next. The teacher turned the dress inside out and started to inspect it. Her face turned red and she screamed for my friend to come see her at the front of the class. During lunch, my friend had sat in the cafeteria and stapled a lot of the seams together šŸ¤£Iā€™ve never tried so hard not to laugh.
