Blue-eyed Samurai was fun but really kind of stupid imo. The handless comic relief, the derpening of everyone present (you really mean to tell me the whole world is powerless to figure out that that's a woman's voice?) It was fine but it was a long way from a favourite show for me.
There are countless stories of post op transition patients not being any happier and often times wish they could undo it all. You can downplay how many people that is, but I think the more important fact is that it’s happening and that it doesn’t get wide attention. If we’re being scientific, I think everyone should have all the available knowledge and understand the possible consequences to make a rational decision. There is a lot of hate against even suggesting that therapy may be a more beneficial route before mutilating your body. I’m aware there are people in the world that the surgery could and can work for, but I think what’s commonly overlooked is that there will be many impressionable people who want to fit in and will identify with this movement and make a hasty, life altering decision.
You’re overlooking a great portion of the audience that was not satisfied in favor of your own experience and interpretation. How else would I and many others independently come to the same conclusion that there was more telling than showing in the finale if there wasn’t a modicum of truth to it? Clearly there is something to that take, just as we also independently came to our own conclusion that the “plan” was not all that interesting or executed in a way that was more entertaining/compelling. Once again, just because the plan may make sense on paper doesn’t make it enthralling story telling.
Your entire point rests on the appeal to majority fallacy as indicated by the last thing you said. You say it doesn’t matter, but you wouldn’t bring it up at all if you were trying to make an argument void of using that as a supporting piece of evidence
Agreed. It seems a lot of people here are claiming it’s an easier hand position to draw, but that doesn’t seem necessarily true. I grew up loving to draw and illustrate, looked at tons of how to draw books, never came across any material about hands saying it makes it easier to combine the middle and ring. Why not index and middle? Why not ring and pinky? Why not have all the fingers together? Its not even a coherent argument
