In all honesty, any mites in a worm bin are generally beneficial and part of the product being live and healthy. You could rinse them off, but I'm assuming you'll have them with at least some castings, which would reintroduce the mites anyway.
Just looked up this route - looks like its 42 miles from Longview to Vernonia to the start of the trail... all for a 21 mile paved trail!? Seems like a crazy ride to get there, but the Banks-Vernonia is cool....
For New Zealand I followed a well known route with detailed instructions from a guide book. It cut my planning by 95%, which is good because I get tired of playing for hours with endless map and route apps. At first it's fun, then it gets boring.
Will probably be contacting Jeffery at Hachita Bike Ranch soon. I think he is still doing shuttles and operating his hostel. I’m also going to ask if I can ship my bike to his house- may be easier than dealing with the airlines
I’m planning a NOBO ride around the same time next year. There is a guy who has a shuttle service and sort of hostel near Antelope Wells. Maybe Hachita Bike Ranch? I’ll see if I can find it and get to you.
A cliff bar wrapper and an extra tube. For real; I sliced open a tire, booted it with a cliff bar wrapper and it went another 2000+ kms, including the Oregon Outback.
Putting new Schwalbe marathon tires on my surly LHT - I got the regular Schwalbe marathon - put it on and it popped while sitting in my apartment... twice.
As a very amateur bike mechanic, when the ol’ apartment pop happened it was 100% because my tube was pinched against the rim. Far be it for me to accuse you of similar dumbassery, but perhaps worth consideration
Or a voltage drop or more likely voltage flicker issue. If the source pole or transformer was replaced or the secondary service drop was hooked up differently, the voltage calcs may be off now.
"Winter season note: Gate is closed during the winter season. Visitors can walk in and camp if the gate is closed."
Ahh thank you missed that last part!
I have nothing to add on the routes, but as a fellow Wisco transplant who loves biking, lmk if you ever want to ride with a fellow Brewers fan!
Yeehaw! Go brew crew!
I also have those PDFs saved. For unknown reasons, PBOT took the maps down a while ago, I wish they hadn’t!
ah thank you, sounds like an awesome loop (besides the 18 wheeler!)
Costellos cafe on NE Broadway does a pretty good open mic comedy night on Thursdays. Think it's 6-9pm
Any good spots to park and bike there? Love biking on the historic Columbia hwy, but sometimes tough finding parking.
brewers and freak injuries....
How has no on mentioned Ryan Braun smacking jean Segura in the face with a bat in the dugout... That was brutal
The way commercial farms do it is by flooding the bin to the point that the entire bin is essentially a soup and then blowtorch the surface!
wow that sounds crazy!

Ya I know they are part of a bum eco system. Just seems to look bad for a sale
Another idea - start a second bin and build it yourself! Lots of cheap builds out there, i used a couple of old 5gal buckets
Anyone got an extra code for a brew crew fan?!
Any extra codes out there for a brew crew fan?!
Looks cool! How heavy is it though?
Surprised there aren't too many political comments. Nice.
It's what makes these small subs great!
Like this, but if you cross Columbia at Longview can climb up to Vernonia and cruise down to Banks on the Rail to trail

I’m reasonably traveled and I still think it’s the most gorgeous place in the world.
Have never been to Colombia - good place for a bike tour?!
I live in Milwaukee and when my sons were in school there I’d periodically circle one lake or the other with them. Great city overall.
The bike ride from Madison to Milwaukee is great! Bike trails in Wisconsin are underrated

Trees good, roofs not so much. I love Reddit for everyone’s willingness to share the good around us that we don’t always get to see. To the sky!
