I just had to redo this section again because of that bug. I killed priestess Gut, then knocked out Minthara but long rested before fighting the 3rd. Killed third but Halsin was stuck. You have to knock out Minthara and then kill Druzban or whatever his name is WITHOUT long resting. Minthara’s body will despawn if you long rest after knocking her out checking the box in the quest log but Halsin won’t register she’s “defeated “
I like the concept! Maybe put Cimber in Omu, so they have to figure out where he is, do the jungle crawl, etc. Once they find him, maybe he is afflicted by the Death Curse, knows the source is in Omu, and asks the party for their help to solve it? I also suggest you use the Sewn Sisters instead of Ace, being haunted by hags is so much fun and ties in to their final encounter nicely. As a final suggestion, tie one of the players to something in Omu - an artifact, lost family, something that makes it personal. Have fun!
Sounds more like a way to retcon a reason for them to stay. If I were you, I'd do a new Session Zero at this point, explaining what will happen next and together design hooks for the party.
Assault is all we played simply because my buddy was like, “if you play conquest and suck at what you choose, that’s on you. Assault is All Random All Mid and well, if you get some shit you suck at, it be like that sometimes.” Hahaha. 10,000 assault rounds later….

I would add as well this is a table of my brother, mother, wife and 13y/o son so they should bite on any hook I give them for the most part.
