1. Around 55% of the Belgian population can speak English on a conversational level. Generally, the language barrier is way steeper in Wallonia than in Flanders, where almost half of the population can converse in basic English.

  2. I appreciate your advice. But don’t speak to what you don’t know.

  3. You said yourself that you « fucked by waiting around too much ». So which one is it?

  4. According to the compromis , I would

  5. The United States offers legal immigrants the “privilege “ to be welcomed into the country. The United States provides endless opportunities and freedom to determine your future. Which comes with hard work and dedication. With that you can accomplish your future goals. In many countries no matter how hard you work you can never achieve your goals. It annoys me when people say that Americans are privileged. I came here with my parents as LEGAL immigrants and 50 years ago you had to learn the language and work hard and make the most of the opportunities that this country provided. We got nothing from the government even my parents refused to send me to public school instead I went to catholic school. They worked in jobs that helped build this country up. The ONLY PRIVILEGE we have received from the United States and we are forever grateful for is that it opened its doors to me and my family and our family’s future generations. There are many countries that their citizens don’t want to live here. I can say that’s because they are privileged as well. Unless one has lived 10+years in a country comprable to the United States, then they can opine if we’re privileged. Because they have personal experience and knowledge about the pros and cons of each country. Do you mind if I ask? Are you an American citizen?

  6. Dude, you are missing the whole point of my post (you probably didn’t read and understood it) and contradicting yourself. I’m not spending time with you, have a good day.

  7. Americans have “privileges” because of what is written in our constitution. Giving us the freedom to speak, study, work, bear arms and others. NOW if someone chooses not to take advantage of our rights then they are to blame. Maybe people calling Americans privileged should fight to rewrite the constitution of their country

  8. Dude, you are privileged just to be born a westerner. Maybe not as privileged as an American VS a Belgian but still privileged to be a westerner nonetheless when you compare your situation to the vast majority of the world.

  9. You have to pay 30% on the cash value of the stock when the dividend got ex. This is normally mentioned in the calculation of how many shares are given to you.

  10. You have to pay 30% on the cash value of the stock when the dividend got ex. This is normally mentioned in the calculation of how many shares are given to you.

  11. Cards like the Crypto.com debit card are accepted everywhere and what they do is let you pay anywhere with crypto and that crypto is automatically and instantly converted to cash for the merchant.

  12. You do give all your identification information during the KYC process

  13. Because that 2.75% should still be taxed if I remembered correctly… which is 30%… And if you just look at numbers: it can be cheaper than 36€/year… just look at degiro, bolero etf list or the new saxo price tags… Let’s say I order 250€/month via bolero etf list at 2.5€ (which I would not recommend) you would only pay 30€/year as transaction costs. No monthly cost or whatever… If I would go through degiro I would only pay 1€ and the same with some orders at Saxo… so you can basically do 36 buys/sells of shares a year… which is ironically 3 a month… Another serious downside: you don’t own your stocks! Remember that… if you would ever close your account, you have to sell at first, file your taxes and start over… if I do that at a real broker, I can just transfer my shares for a couple of euro’s and move on… Don’t be silly if you look at the long term. Go for a trustworthy broker where you can stay for a long time.

  14. You can transfer your stocks out of Degiro what are you on about saying you have to sell first?

  15. Rule number 1 of the sub. This is a question that would have been answered by reading the wiki and the sticky.

  16. Just call Unchained Capital or one of the other collaborative multisig coordinators. They'll hold one of the keys, back up the wallet descriptor, help set up inheritance, and walk her through the process if you pass away.

  17. Please {continue to) place a cop somewhere there to catch all of them. I'd not normally care enough to say there needs to be a cop standing there all day, but... I'll apologize for the language, don't fuck with trains.

  18. Just like the growing number of Flemings in Walloon Brabant isn't counted either. Statistics are never perfect. Typically, it doesn't matter too much. Like other immigrants, their children often (though not always) go to local schools in the regional language, so the children do speak the regional language like a native.

  19. In some communes of Flanders you have an absolute majority of French speaking political parties. I’m curious if that’s the case in Walloon Brabant. Maybe we will get there but at the moment there is a vast amount of native French speakers in Flanders being accounted as Dutch speakers.

  20. There are plenty of Flemings moving to Wallonia for the cheaper housing etc. The difference is that they don't politically agitate about it. So if you're going to count native language, then don't be surprised to find that the Dutch-speaking minority in Wallonia is far larger than the other way around.

  21. lol who would want to move to Wallonia for financial reasons?

  22. This is a post for the weekly discussion. No self promotion in a post.

  23. Perhaps a weird question... but... what if someone made another BTC. Perhaps done before idk. Halving every 2 years, 10.5M supply, same tokennomics.

  24. Nothing is stoping anyone to do so but digital scarcity can only happen once.

  25. Read the White Paper 📝 only 9 pages and all is clear.

  26. A lot of people are scared to read 9 pages. The font is huge, lots of spacing, lots of figures and half a page of citation. It’s a very short read in fact for a 9 pages paper.

  27. It helps to show the instructor what you are going to do instead of just doing things.

  28. "When Bitcoin goes up after the halving"

  29. It really worked so bad for crypto “investors” for the past few halving events …

  30. Ok so withdrawal fees lowered, people withdraw and sell, price goes down, and same people complaining about withdrawal fees are like wtf Plutus do something. Downvote me but it's the reality.

  31. So the damn thing is just plain unsustainable no matter what then.

  32. What about selection bias by promoting it here?

  33. Yeap, this sub has a high concentration of crypto enthusiasts so I’d question my methodology just for having posted the link here.

  34. You know, “one in the hand is worth two in the bushes”.

  35. I’m biased because I pursued a CS Master in evening lessons because I previously was told I couldn’t get a raise because I didn’t had a master degree and my salary was on par with the industry standard for a Bachelor.

  36. Yes, but only "speculative" losses. Look it up, in the diverse inkomsten part of the declaration, right next to the tax code to report speculative gains, you can report losses from speculative trades up to five years ago.

  37. The worst that can happen to a beginner is two first months of 5% gains. They’ll get cocky and get burned because of obvious reasons :-)

  38. What I can recommend people that have a unit to put up to rent but don’t want to the legwork of the landlord or are afraid of making mistakes, leave this job to a property manager. Yes they’ll take a cut of your rent (10% of it in my case) but they’ll provide a lot of value for both you and the tenant.

  39. These types of comments always read like advertisements from property managers. If you have dozens of rentals, sure, it can be good, but if you only have one or two flats then it's such a waste of money.
