1. I don't see how they are tangentially related though. Creating money, as you suggest, lowers the interest rate, puts more money into competition for the same goods, and gives the government more money to pay back or generate new debt.

  2. From the perspective of individual investors and their grocery bills, M2 is the not the important measure though. Here is the important measure of money supply:

  3. A missing bullet, and what strikes as a much better answer: "money" is the representation as the amount of energy (calories, joules, or btu's) it takes to engage in any activity from mining gold to growing wheat to writing a book.

  4. Three forces, if allowed to continue, will drive the economy into the ground. I'm afraid all three are exactly whats on the menu as the left continues to gain ground. Then of course there is a fourth, also on the laundry list for the left. They are. 1) utter lack of will to get the federal debt under control. Thus, the cost of interest alone will continue to rise, we will continue to borrow, and therefore either see a debt default or continue to screw everybody by printing money to pay the interest 2) an insistence on raising taxes on everything productive, thus fucking everyone from retiring investors to workers to entrepreneurs. Expect a salary depressing continuation of the "you didn't build that" punish the successful mentality.

  5. You've basically excluded the two reasons that encompass the entirety of why men would be interested in the question.

  6. Older male engineer here. I've done my tours through management, quality, process improvements, project management.

  7. I am an “older” aerospace engineer and your comment is a huge part of the continued problem female engineers battle. You are literally here reading comments from female engineers, I assume you’re reading, then saying nahhhh it’s not really because of that but because of this. No. Stop it. I can look at a MasterCam drawing with no dimensions and tell you what tolerances will work, manually clock a cnc machine, tell by the sound of the mori-seiki if the bit is getting ready to melt, tell you the tooling won’t reach without pulling up the mastercam, etc. If I’m standing in front of a group of male engineers and pointing out a problem, it’s because it’s a problem. I don’t just render drawings, I can program nearly any cnc lathe/mill machine. Knowing what I know and for how long I’ve been doing this, having a man stand in front of me dismiss my contribution and say something like “if your tits were bigger I wouldn’t be able to hear you” (actual quote from a male engineer) that is because I’m a woman. So, get out of here with your it’s not this but that bs.

  8. OP's post did not read to me at all like what you lining out. But instead as broadly of the "operations process improvement" situation.

  9. Your edit correctly captures the situation. But I don't the other posters adequately captured the real issue, so I'll give it a shot.

  10. This is definitely a millenial/Z thing. 80's/90's only the hottiest of the smokiest got to be on film. Now, the ick is real.

  11. Whatever...but you have fun with your no-titted silicon butt injected flabby cohorts.

  12. The whole age gap bullshit is nothing more, at all, than 30+ yr old girl bosses finding that when they finally decide to get married they have to compete with the 23 year old version of themselves. They can't do it.

  13. Maybe the laws do need to be overhauled. But the sex wage gap narrative is a complete fraud. Profession by profession and time-in-grade adjusted, women do just as well as men.

  14. It depends. If we the minority of people that actually pay taxes after accounting for EITC have to soak up the loans - fuck no.

  15. Well...it could be worse. There's half a dozen guys at church who, when I see them, I think I only look half as hollowed out and beat down as they do. So, I guess it's all relative.

  16. Sex is absolutely a priority for me. If you can make it without it good for you.

  17. I've lived in a sexless marriage for years. I get along well enough with what is effectively my roomate.

  18. If your manager was a dead white male, you could be honest. As this is not the case, this a trap. Someone is fishing to find out who in the group is flapping their gums. If it's you, you are done

  19. MrDeath4707 said in another post of theirs that a phobia is "an extreme or irrational fear of".

  20. Its wild youd baselessly resort to calling me a racist. You're going on about "equality" and complaining of incompetent people being hired to simply reach equality, which isn't even what happens.

  21. You miss his point, which is that in fields where competency is fundamentally important to human health and safety - basically all STEM - you *need*, not want, NEED the right 3'rd standard deviation on the competency curve.

  22. I completely disagree. The left is not hypocritical. It's so much worse than that.

  23. New teachers. Who are typically less well remunerated do as well or better than older colleagues.

  24. I so love it on Reddit when someone says "prove it" and the challenged person just brings it with a boom. Good on you!

  25. I don't know how to say this without being insensitive, but I'll try. Something my parents drilled into me over and over and over until I was sick of it was the idea that the proper raising of a child starts with choosing who do, and more importantly, don't date. They were adamant that I shouldn't even start to develop a preference for people that did not themselves come from non-divorced families.

  26. What you're hearing is that consent doesn't work the way you want it to work. A definition of consent that is asymmetrical or destructive of the whole enterprise is not valid. Not valid despite what the blue hairs propagandized you about in college.

  27. On very effective propaganda technique is to say facts that are absolutely factually true, but in a way, time, and context likely to result in people misunderstanding. A second effective technique is to slowly over time change the meaning of a word so that "meaning" is added or deleted in a way that makes the original concept murky, unclear, hard to distinguish. This is second is especially effective when the changing is done by institutions, academics, experts.
