1. it pretty much depends on the specific system. A system who is facing a trauma that seems near inescapable may form a superhero alter who could deal with the issues were they to really have superpowers. Or, the same scenario could produce a jailed alter or one who perceives themselves to be in a prison. this is a highly representational disorder where the mind and the imagination causes the types of alters. if you perceive something differently than someone else, you will end up with a different alter than them depending on the circumstance.

  2. colder options: tights + long sleeve blouse, shirt+cardigan and thigh highs, Chunky sweater slightly tucked in (and again, tights. probably thermal ones) long sleeve t-shirt and a scarf or shawl

  3. There have been cases where dissociative identity disorder was used as a defense, but in those cases and other Insanity pleas The convicted criminal will still be sent to a mental health ward and not allowed to be out in the general public, similar to being sent to prison.

  4. that makes it completely inaccessible to anyone who doesn't already know the name, or anyone who uses a screen reader / text to talk.

  5. Yeah Ford's get stolen a lot so hat makes sense. I think the most common theft reported.

  6. I aimed for final fusion (and achieved it last August!) because we always had agreed on having one life to live, and living it to the fullest. there's less bargaining on time, activities, food, partners, etc when we're all one and get to experience life as one. we already have to negotiate so much with others in our lives, bosses, clients, peers, partners, I didn't want to have to constantly be debating myself too, and working together wasn't something we needed. we worked together to choose and achieve final fusion, and I'm so much calmer now and able to focus on my other struggles that didn't come from DID. I feel more present in life, more full, and I'm so happy with my choice.

  7. a diagnosis is a life changing, stressful event, even if it was one you were "looking forward to" in that it may answer some questions and lead on the path to treatment. It's expected/normal that you're mood and symptoms may change in intensity after a major diagnosis. in fact, it's one of the "acute stress" questions they give you in psych emergency!

  8. f minor wtc2, it was my favourite out of the ones offered.

  9. i’d bet queensbourough is worse

  10. other than the traffic to get there, it's definitely not worse. that one actually has a lot of space and stock.

  11. my cancellation policy is arrange the makeup within thirty days (you can book a lesson for the future, but within reason- I'll book may in April, but I won't book a makeup in February for June XD), at my convenience. If your kids busy schedule can't fit my makeup times, it's on you to prioritize the makeup or you miss your time.

  12. Side note, why not turn your bike into an electric bike? Sure it's have less long distance capability, but it's don't require insurance and it's probably cheaper than a mopped. :/

  13. I've been looking into doing this with mine, what's the price point?

  14. Can't say now a day. Last time i did 1, it was over 10 years ago and it was between 300 or 400. But mind you it was in canadian dollars. :/ but with inflation and how technology developed since might be cheaper or more expensive. :/

  15. I'm Canadian too so that helps! might look into financing that, better than our current gas prices.

  16. these are my favourites. got a Homeworld like this once.

  17. Only one hundred more resets for me 😅😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣 Give me darn skitty

  18. PMD is the reason I fell in love with skitty!

  19. I have Crohn’s Disease (a form of inflammatory bowel disease).  Damn… I wish I could think of a good name. Here’s so random ones I thought of while in the bathroom.

  20. Not autoimmune but I have Myalgic Encephalomyelitis. I dunno that there’s a way to make that a good drag name 😭

  21. Maya Gia Emmy (I'm not trying to dragify encephalomyelitis, but at least I can do Emmy for ME)

  22. that's not how did works, there's no "original" part. the whole origin of DID is that in childhood there was never an integration phase, and the parts stayed separate and developed on their own rather than coming together.

  23. I think this can just be one post next time.

  24. Sometimes I would have to adapt to feeling out of place or like I couldn't access all my skills at a given moment, but we made it work. We had lots of strategies and a good curriculum (teacher) we could fall back on.

  25. It’s really interesting how you phrased it as shattered parts of one plate, that actually makes a lot of sense. I think my understanding of DID is probably skewed by how I have seen it portrayed on TikTok/youtube but this is a good explanation. I’m sorry if this is a confusing question but why wouldn’t you want to put the plate back\ together? Or why would it be important that you do put it back together? When talking about the pieces of the plate,is personas a more accurate way to describe an alter rather than personalities?

  26. imagine having a meal with two smaller plates instead of a big one. they are working together, just as well as a big plate.

  27. Thanks for your reply! It definitely puts it in a different perspective and I appreciate you taking the time to answer :)

  28. I feel like handheld mode is significantly more popular. Sure the Switch lite exists and is basically that, but I really don’t think much will change.

  29. I feel like modern gaming Trends more towards home consoles, even though I appreciate handhold gaming more, so I'd be surprised if they removed the feature to at least cast to the TV or hook up to it. I'd be really disappointed if they removed the handheld feature though

  30. Yeah but you also have to remember they don’t have the 3DS anymore.

  31. true, but nothing really replaced the PSP ever. only thing modern gaming has to compete handheld wise (aside from the emulator business) is the steam deck to my knowledge

  32. ICBC will always default to keeping basic rates low because they have a monopoly on it but will raise optional coverage and offer a slight discount if you package the two since their research show most people won’t shop around for separate optional insurance. If you review submissions to the BCUC dating back to at least 2012 they’ve been doing this.

  33. Til you can get extra insurance elsewhere than ICBC (I'm assuming this includes hit and run, collision, etc?)

  34. This marks six years in a row my insurance goes up 30$ every year even though my experience goes up without any claims.

  35. It's from a videogame, Cyberpunk 2077. It is a mystery that has been unsolved for 3 years - trying to investigate a musical route.

  36. I see! tricky. is there an in-game solution or is it more of a lore mystery?

  37. not only former Airbnb's, but the closer to a college/uni you're looking the more furnished suites there will be for international students. Was frustrated when I was trying to find places near Burnaby mountain.
