Interestingly enough, I can describe going on a bike as giving me a sense of freedom, and I don't mean 'freedom' as going 270 km/h on a public road but rather as a set of sensations that I experience when riding. For example, a part of my daily commute is going through a forest road, and the smell and a sudden wall of cool air is so much more preferable to me than going in a steel cage. I know motorcycling is more dangerous than commuting by car, but that's why you get full gear. There will always be stupid people, both on motorcycles and cars, but the best I can do about that is watch out for them.
