I can explain what you’re looking at pretty easily. Basically, when you design a website in a large company you need to design it for every screen size. What you’re looking at is more narrow monitors not phone screens. They’ve designed it for the smaller monitors then spent zero time on widescreen. Why? Idk. I was working for a smaller company and it was easy to recognize.

One would think a 4K 16:9 would be in the list of screens to optimize for.

You optimize separately for mobile than desktop. If you look on mobile you’ll see the images down the page are stacked vertically. What you’re looking at is a lack of widescreen optimization. This is why some pages set a max-width of like 980 and float everything by in the center of the screen. It’s less work.

Anyone who says this won’t make it hasn’t seen a first gen product before. This will adapt and change and I’m sure it’ll mix up the market. I’m tired of being glued to my phone so it’s kind of neat that it takes that away. One thing I’d recommend is some sort of AirPod where you can maybe tap the AirPod instead of the pin module and have a private phone call not on speaker.
