1. I see that this has already been solved, but for anyone else looking for a solution to a problem like this...

  2. Not sure where you need that many ports, but only need one access point. Still, it looks like a great start.

  3. I don't know how many people are on the mountain, or in the your local cell, but it sounds like you are ideal candidates.

  4. I am pretty sure you have the numbers backwards. The government and big commercial customers will be the meat of the revenue. $3.4 Billion from the residential customers will be the gravy.

  5. Speed tests are fine, but I came here looking for an install picture showing the beautiful countryside.

  6. It looks very similar to a mallet that was traditional in the scout troop I grew up in. We called it a shillelagh. When made with a particular method, it could be used to demonstrate skills with a saw, knife, and hand axe sufficient to be approved for a Totin' Chip, which was the "license" to use those tools without direct supervision.

  7. Props on the 10G capable network. I have the USW Agg switch (for my household of 4), but my 24 port Pro-POE was the older one. Only my interlinks between devices (UDM-Pro, Agg Switch, Pro-Switch) and a couple of other ports are 10G capable. Mine is also about 4 years old now.

  8. I hope you aren't too old! (And from reading the other responses, you are not.) I have always wanted to staff at summer camp, and Philmont would be the best place on the planet to be. I would love to work summers once I am retired.

  9. That is a shocking number! It implies that they retained 62% of their customers, and that is hard to fathom.

  10. It tells you that 62% of customers may still be under contract.

  11. It might be only 55% to 60% that at still under contract. You also have to account for "the AOL effect". If you aren't familiar with it, it is the intense resistance to change driven by discomfort with technology. It is also known as "Grandma still uses AOL dialup, because it was SO HARD to learn to use email the first time, and she doesn't want to go through that again."

  12. If you have network attached storage accessed by multiple client devices in your house, even if all of the client devices are limited to 1 Gb (each), then it can make sense to go faster than 1 Gb on your NAS and switch.

  13. But that’s not a patch cable - unless you cut the ends off?

  14. The labeling as "PATCH" implies that it is intended for making patch cables, meaning stranded conductors. That is, if you can trust anything that claims to be CAT5E, but has non-standard colors and apparently no twists.

  15. Personally, I do not think they eliminated the motor. Maybe there will be a future dish in a year or so, that looks like this new non-actuated dish but with actuators. Essentially, means the standard line is split into two, one with actuator and one without, with both getting new dishes over time.

  16. Manual alignment (which will be pretty forgiving with one of these, as opposed to old school legacy dishes which needed fairly precise alignment) in exchange for removing the damage prone plastic gears in the older models seems like a fair trade to me. Not exactly an upgrade, but a fair trade.

  17. I have been out of the loop for a bit. Is that an antenna WITHOUT the motors for aiming and stowing? It seems about time.

  18. If it is that old, the batteries are probably shot anyway. It is probably worth replacing the batteries with new ones, if replacements are available. I have replaced batteries in a bunch of APC units over the years, and I had my choice of compatible replacements. Most of the time it wasn't too hard.

  19. I love my Lowa Renegades, because I need boots that come in wide sizes. Far more important than the specific model is how they fit YOUR feet.

  20. Remember when Pelosi was going to use the 25th amendment on Trump.....all those quivers. And we are living with a potato in office.

  21. Please try to keep the conversation civil. Be nicer to potatoes.

  22. It isn't all over the place in the US. That's why people take videos of it.

  23. Assuming you can find it in stock, what's the Ubiquiti UniFi store price for this device?

  24. The cable that is supposed to be used inside of walls has solid conductor. It lasts a lot longer than stranded conductor wire, as long as it isn't repeatedly bent and unbent. The long life is good, because the cable is inside the wall and it would be a real pain to replace.

  25. Focusing on the media aspect of it, religion was more likely to be portrayed in older movies. It was also more likely to be portrayed in a positive light if it was portrayed. Like all things in media, the extremes are more likely to be shown than normality. After all, who wants to see a movie about boring, normal life? Even when the media pretends to show normal life (anyone remember the show "Friends"?) it is an extremely un-real version of the real world.

  26. I am not sure I would trust the UI that much. I would find the documentation online to figure out whether it is really a PoE port, or if it is just saying "There is no power going out on this port", which would be technically correct if the port does not support PoE, LOL.

  27. It doesn't fit MY style, but I am happy that it is working for you and that you like it.

  28. But headlamps and lanterns serve two entirely different purposes. A headlamp is directional and a lantern is ambient. A headlamp is better for moving around but is less than optimal for sitting around at night.

  29. I would rather read by headlamp than by lantern, personally. My Bilby by Knog even has a specific reading setting. That was the first headlamp that I really loved.
