Gecko Moria was mine for years and then he showed up fairly recently (between Wano and Egghead IIRC) only to seemingly be killed by Blackbeard's crew. I am like the one Gecko Moria superfan and his Devil Fruit is one of the coolest in the series to me, plus I love his goofy design.
Full Frontal essentially represents what people thought Char was like. He's refined, honourable in a way, strategic, and charismatic, a natural leader.
This is why I think people who say Full Frontal was just a lazy plot tool excuse to basically add Char to Unicorn is missing the point of the character. I liked his character development where he knows he basically has no personality of his own but feels this duty to carry out his purpose and be a symbol.
I was literally here to say the Hansen match as well when I saw this title. That finish is an all-time great: Hansen, being a massive man that can reach Kobashi on the turnbuckle just by standing next it then nails Kobashi with what I can only describe as a "casual massive lariat" and then Kobashi just crumples and Hansen gets the pin.
I'd reccomend Eureka Seven, one of my all-time favorites. The series is centered around the romance between the two main characters, and they fight alongside each other by piloting the mech together and powering in up through the power of love, baby! I wouldn't say the male lead is stoic or emotionless at all, but he's definitley softer around the love interest and grows a lot through the series. It's an emotional series with great characters and reveals, plus the mechs all ride hoverboards.
Tbh, I don’t think he really needs defenders; he’s always being an all time great imo, he just had the rotten luck of her I grouped together with three all time greats who were way more prominent.
This is a great take. I'm a big fan of wrestlers with a sumo background and it got me into starting to watch sumo. I pop every time Taue fires up with those sumo slaps.
xxxHolic (it relays great reflections and examples of the effects of some mental illnesses in people's lives, while dealing with the fantasy and folklore of ayakashi in a lighthearted way. In some episodes, you could even see the ayakashi as metaphors or a narrative device to put the human experience into perspective. Some situations are quite complex too, and add a lot of variety to the writing).
Just wanted to add onto the xxxHolic rec that I highly suggest going the manga route and reading Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle alongside it, as the two are companion pieces that tie into one another, are part of the same universe, and characters literally cross over and interact with one another throughout their courses and reading both works gives the full story context.

Really appreciate the Roa clarification, I thought since Shiki and SHIKI had the soul link, I assumed Shiki had Roa's soul as well that got fully powered when SHIKI was killed in the Ciel route.
Oh yeah, that explanation in the Akiha route I figured but I had no idea about the other Nanaya trait you mentioned. I'm definitely going to have to go through KT ASAP because it seems like it fills in a lot that I imagine Natsu wanted to include but couldn't based on what I've read about the development. So the Plus Disc has important canon content as well?
I don't know what the reception is to the Sengoku Youko anime is (need to watch it, it's tied with Satoshi Mizukami's other big two works for my favorite manga ever and certainly seems like it's getting a better treatment then Biscuit Hammer at least), but it has one of the most beautiful endings to any media I've ever consumed and has stuck with me vividly in my mind for years.

As someone who watched the first movie from 1990 for the first time this week and thought it was a delight, how are the sequels?
