1. I'm somewhat more skeptical of his claims because because he says he was shown brain scans by others (I forget who he claims showed him this but sounds like the Skinwalker people who I feel have very little credibility) who had experiences. This makes me think there was not a real study being conducted. Thus, I'd like some neuroscientists to be able to comment on his methodology, especially since this isn't even his area of specialization.

  2. You are 100% right, after sifting through all his interviews it seems that hes just recycling the work of the man who approached him with this. Christopher “kit” Green. Look him up, he had a sample size of 100 patients. Nolan says he was contacted by the CIA but i think hes deceiving people. He was contacted by former cia scientist Christopher Green with the mri data. Also after sifting through the numerous stories and interviews that Gary has done ive found that he mentions; He looked at 100 mri’s He claims that 90 of them were Havana syndrome so he put those out of his responsibility. He then said of the 10 remaining, these were the ones that had so called experiences with ufo. He said in these people he found increased connections in the basal ganglia instead of what they initially thought was brain damage. He then says 1/4 of them died of their injury within 7 years. So potentially 2-3 people died….if they were in there 60’s that would be expected but he gives no data. Also it doesn’t make sense because he claimed that it turned out they didn’t have brain damage, instead increased neural density in the basal ganglia, then says 1/4 of them died of their injuries……? So I’m skeptical as well of this whole thing.

  3. Well, because of his childhood own experience is in part why he inerestedt in investigating UFOs. In addition, he was recruited by the CIA. That's what he says, and we don't have a valid reason to think it's not true.

  4. He was not recruited or contacted by the CIA, he continuously throws that claim out without evidence. After some digging it looks like he was contacted by a former cia scientist Christopher “Kent”Green who gave him the mri’s of military and government people who claimed to have had contact with ufo’s. What Gary Nolan doesnt tell you is how were these people selected or if there stories are credible. He never published anything so no one can peer review it. He just assumes they are credible and we have to take his word for it essentially. This former cia scientist(Christopher Green) who gave Gary Nolan the MRI results also pushed Uri Gellar’s work(yes the guy that claimed to bend spoons with his mind) and also claimed that the now infamous and fake roswell alien autopsy video was real. Gary Nolan also glazed over the fact that the people in his study had these brain injuries and denser areas of brain matter prior to their “encounters”. There are older from 2013 that studied fighter jet pilots who essentially had these exact same pathology as what he describes no alien or Ufo encounters necessary. At last he also claims that a 1/4 of them died within 10years of their “encounters” this wouldn’t be remarkable if they were an average of around 60 years old but he doesn’t release any of that info. He just releases bits of info that sound remarkable without any given context.

  5. Where did I ever claim to be in charge? What are you talking about?

  6. What vehicle did you have them on? For s3 the b8 are oem replacement because the b6 is too short

  7. I don’t understand how you could look at that car with the seatbelts like that and say “yup this is the one” Do you have family that rides in the car with you? Pretty dangerous, bring it back.

  8. Okay, so are you just looking for people to agree with you? Suspension softness vs stiffness is, again, just one measure of how a car might handle and it's driver preference and circuit dependent. And they're close enough that one circuit could favor the other.

  9. Your right, I guess I was just looking to see if people noticed the same thing if anyone has ever cross shopped the 2. Both are great cars and close in performance.

  10. Sure, but the lap times disagree with you.

  11. Not from what ive seen; Car and driver lighting lap, the 2015 s3 lapped quicker than the mk7 R

  12. I was in the same predicament as you were. I had a mk7 gti and traded it in for a mk7 R. One of the things i loved about the gti was the instant torque in city driving due to the smaller turbo. The golf R definitely has more lag and that low rpm torque that was very fun in the gti is kind of traded for more mid range top end power in the R, which is not really usable in the city without getting in trouble. Also the gti felt more nimble light on its feet. Better steering feel. At 10/10ths the golf R is an absolute weapon, but for city driving and most day to day driving I miss the gti. The performance of the R cant really be exploited without going very fast. Im from Montreal and we get alot of snow during the winter and the R is definitely fun in the winter. In terms of fuel consumption the gti took alot less fuel, the R revs alot higher at 100km/hr (60mph) on the highway than the gti.

  13. Hey, since we’re both in Canada how much more fuel would you say the R uses vs a GTI? I have an older mk5 and thinking about the trade to 7.5 R but fuel price is definitely a bit on my mind since Vancouver prices are nuts.

  14. I would say the R costs me about 10-20$ more in fuel per week. Fuel prices are crazy here too thanks to that idiot we have in office in Ottawa.

  15. Better, wish it came without that little extra cheesy tail on the headlights.

  16. Good it has been resolved. For those of us who followed your story, can you let us know if there was a positive outcome for you and your wife? Hope all is good for you.

  17. Yes positive out outcome, all concerns were delt with. Change of coworker requested by my wife, 0 contact agreed upon and and she basically handed over her phone computer etc to check previous messages etc…

  18. Is the increased spool time noticeable in daily driving? My biggest fear in moving from the 20 to the 38 is that I’ll notice the difference and it will bother me.

  19. Definitely noticeable, i went from a mk7 gti to a mk7 r and its one of the things i miss about the gti. The powerband is much more usable for daily driving. To have fun with the is38 you have to be going fast and hence not as fun on a daily imho.

  20. Wow! I have a mk7 gti and thats never happened to me
