1. The legit scariest bridge in Maryland is the Tydings bridge. I white- knuckle it every single time.

  2. I would have said the Thomas Johnson bridge. It’s the only bridge I get nervous driving.

  3. Is that the one by Calvert county that feels like it’s completely 90° vertical?

  4. Aside from all the other mentioned reasons here I’ll add a practical problem I found with GP shifters and that is that finding neutral can be tricky on certain bikes.

  5. Def NTA. It's NASTY to have half naked girls rubbing up on your soon to be husband. There's no reason for it. Fuck that whole "tradition" bullshit. It's degrading to the women and it's pervy for men who are in relationships to do. I don't care who disagrees with me. Just remember-you're NOT overly jealous, nor are you an asshole. You have every right to feel the way you do.

  6. I’m just gonna point out that some women find stripping to be empowering and fun. I understand if people aren’t into it but I think you’d find plenty of women who wouldn’t appreciate it being generalized as “degrading”.

  7. The only planes babies don’t belong on are red eyes. If you bring a baby on a red eye flight, you’re a monster.

  8. It's cute that you think a billionaire is blowing up their lives by posting on Twitter lol.

  9. Yeah his net worth is still 400m. He's doing just fine, just not as good as he was.

  10. I get that. I’m just pointing out it’s entirely possible to blow up your life on Twitter.

  11. This stupid thing is literally the most notable thing about South Dakota, too

  12. I’m starting a political party whose sole purpose would be to merge the two Dakotas. I’ve always suspected there are only two for electoral college votes. We don’t need two Dakotas.

  13. I've seen drug stores in Baltimore City with liquor aisles. They were grandfathered in from back in the day when people would want a little something to help them sleep without suffering the indignity of stepping into a liquor store.

  14. And when they sell they go for insane prices. When I worked in Fed Hill I remember hearing someone paid close to $250K for one.

  15. There's a vast difference between organically raising money and just using a bunch of your own money.

  16. That may be the case, but it’s not “buying a seat”. Rod Blagojevich tried getting people to actually buy a seat. All the advertising money in the world is useless if it isn’t coupled with popular policy.

  17. The difference between me and Trone being a Congressperson has zero to do with popular policy.

  18. Which is why I said “coupled”. As in “needs both”. I mean, have you tried? Have you attempted to run for Congress? Have you tried fundraising. Seems like the biggest difference between you and Trone is actually that he’s trying to run and you’re not.

  19. Jon wakes up and it was all a dream, season 8 never happened.

  20. Being stabbed was a horrible nightmare fever dream. He is still Lord Commander and everything goes from there.

  21. Honestly if we're redoing more than just S8, I'd want to take it back to fixing the S4 finale and go from there.

  22. Yeah i can deal with losing “Hardhome” if it means losing Selmy’s shit death and that awful Dorne plot line.

  23. I seriously can't tell if these are fake or written by a 12 yr old anymore. This is a clear example of asking questions you don't want to know the answers to.

  24. Written by a teen for sure. Anyone equating OCD with something as universal and primal as jealousy is focusing on correlation not causation.

  25. Exactly. Everyone knows that these are the only pants mr Kravitz can wear. And that’s acceptable, because that’s what mr Kravitz is.

  26. Lenny Kravitz doesn’t do what Lenny Kravitz does for Lenny Kravitz. Lenny Kravitz does what Lenny Kravitz does because he is Lenny Kravitz.

  27. So did George Washington. There’s an entire state named after him, as well as bridges, cities, universities, etc.

  28. The whole country is named for Amerigo Vespucci, a self-proclaimed slaver. We changing that now too? When are we gonna stop projecting modern morals onto people from hundreds of years ago?

  29. Honestly one of my favorite gigs was Exec ag a golf course. Member/Guest tournaments are the busiest you’ll ever get. It’s three straight days of feeding three meals to 500 people but its totally gratifying.

  30. Chevelle is the well whiskey compared to Tool's top shelf Bourbon: it's fine and gets the job done, but one is much more refined, intricate, and pleasurable, with many nuances left to discover upon repeated indulgences.

  31. It’s at least a brand name well., like Jack or Cuervo Certainly not a Mr Boston or DeKuyper.

  32. You got me there. I was incorrect about that. What is your opinion on tossing kids in jail instead of providing their teachers and parents with the support they need to care and provide for these kids?

  33. I have no idea. I’m sure there are groups who spend millions to think of real, beneficial solutions to these problems. People infinitely better at navigating those incredibly muddy waters than I could ever hope to be. I just know that going online to shout strawman talking points is doing those kids and the movement as a whole no good service.

  34. What a lazy and intellectually dishonest answer. I even asked the question in a leading manner. Just say it, you prefer kids in jail to any kind of social program to support them. Judging by this thread, other people do too.

  35. No, that’s not the case at all. There are no bad kids, just bad parents, or in a lot of cases, parents who work insane hours at multiple minimum wage jobs to make ends meet. I run restaurants. That’s what I know. I leave the social work to people who actually know what they’re doing. I’m perfectly fine with social programs and public infrastructure aimed at helping at risk youth. I’ve seen a lot of good done by programs like that when I lived in Baltimore.

  36. One time a chef told me I should really consider changing profession. I think I was like 21 at the time. 3 years later I had his job.

  37. Nothing is safe. The world is a cacophony of death and violence. Stay indoors. Nothing ever happens there.

  38. I used to mix everclear with purple gatorade snd red bull. I’d borrow the 3 gallon buckets from my work and make big batches for house parties. My buddy called it Drool-Aid.

  39. Or Road Worker Memorial Bridge. FSK owned people, the mall named in his honor is enough tribute.

  40. Can we not do this? Please? Can we stop projecting modern morals onto people from hundreds of years ago?

  41. Just remember, our tax money is going towards upgrades to the stadium while the angelos family has a convenient rich person loophole that means they don't have to pay taxes on any of the profit the team has gotten them.

  42. Yeah, because Camden Yards is still state property. You make it sound like tax money is getting dumped into a privately owned facility, and it’s not. The team leases the stadium. It’s no different than your landlord being responsible for upkeep and maintenance on your apartment.

  43. It's wildly different because the Angelos family didn't pay rent.

  44. The last figure I read back in December was that the lease agreement was for $1.5 million year. Not a fortune, for sure but it’s not nothing either. Either way I don’t see the issue with dumping state money into state assets. Are you equally as angry that the Ravens are getting $430 million to upgrade M&T Bank stadium?

  45. I tried to make a post about this earlier, but the mods deleted it. The bridge needed

  46. IIRC, the Bay Bridge has protection for it’s uprights precisely so this kind of thing is far less likely.

  47. That’s not even true. They didn’t have American privileges, one of the survivors reportedly was afraid of going to the hospital because of his undocumented status. Where they come from absolute manners and plays into why they were the ones doing this precarious labor in the first place.

  48. All manner of people do this precarious labor, it’s not exclusive to immigrants, undocumented or otherwise. People lost their lives. That’s all that matters.
