1. Is the industry bad? Is biotech something I should reconsider getting into??? Following my passion is one thing but I don't wanna get stranded in life ...

  2. I think the IB will definitely reevaluate the root of the prevalent issues surrounding it. However, I cannot say A levels is better for sure. My brother is in the curriculum and their papers were leaked too. Properly.

  3. I absolutely agree. Everyone is so passionate about the cheats that they've lost sight of the implication sof drastic measures, like cancelling the exam or resitting it. We only benefit if they lower grade boundaries. I really really hope they do this. It's the only fair solution to those of us who worked honestly. I don't care about the people that cheated. That's their shit. The whole reason we're mad is because they pose a threat to fair grade boundaries, but it seems almost every student has decided to posit the solution that will not address this issue.

  4. i definitely understand where you're coming from and agree that drawing excessive attention to this very sensitive issue can create more problems than it solves, that being said, expecting students, teachers and parents to not react to the ib referring to the leaks confirmed on multiple occasions by students to be legit, as "fake" is unrealistic. Just to put this into perspective, every year between 20,000 and 30,000 students take aa hl math, the aa hl paper 1 has had 16,000+ downloads, not including various screenshots, spreads etc. signifying that the extent of this scandal is disgraceful. While some students may seem immature by "overreacting" (emphasis on quotation marks), they are actually worrying their asses off because let's be clear, the ib doesn't really have the best track record for dealing with crises or issues of any kind and these leaks can directly harm our future, whether we spread awareness or not.

  5. Hi um IB hasn't said that all the leaks are fake. They have acknowledged that the leaks which were occuring right before the papers are real, the time zone leaks as they termed them. What they were calling fake were the alleged biology and chemistry papers which date different from the rest of the leaks in that they have been released a week prior to the exam so even from my eyes they're most likely not the real stuff like the time zone leaks.

  6. Hey I think they were talking about the alleged biology and chemistry papers. If you noticed, most of the leaks were happening like 2 hours before the exams. These came a week early so maybe that's what they meant. But they already acknowledged the existence of leaks in other emails. They know what's happening and contacted schools to have their coordinators investigate. I know ours was contacted

  7. Going through your AGAB puberty is also life changing, why only limit trans kids and not cis?

  8. Just in my class there was 10 people who looked at the answers and do the questions before the exam with chat gpt which means there is a big problem

  9. If those guys used chatgpt for a math problem you have nothing to worry about 😂😂😂

  10. I'm a pretty terrible driver. It's hard to drive well with so many targets on the road.

  11. Hey bro. I think I was in this situation only that in my case, I was your best friend. And nothing hurt more than thinking that my best friend whom I came out to reciprocated my feelings, because he was always too hesitant to say anything to ruin our friendship. Well, ironically, that's exactly what ruined our friendship. The lack of clarity and feeling like I was being delusional. Did he ever tell me he wasn't into me? No. He still hasn't. The gay jokes didn't stop either. So being his friend became hard. I'm not gonna assume that your best friend and I are alike, but dude...when you're in love with someone, you can think clearly.

  12. Y'all what kind of men do you surround yourself with 😭 I can't say any man will ever resonate with girlhood or womanhood, but if a bad experience with one man redefines for you what that entire demographic stands for, I don't think You're viewing the world right. In my experience as a gay guy against religion, it created in me this victimhood mentality that made it feel unsafe to be near someone of the demographic. I kept looking for problems with them to shout about. But that's a perceived reality, not the truth of it. I didn't hate Religious people, I hated homophobes. And You don't hate men, you hate creeps.

  13. Ok long story short, the IB referred to some messed up algorithm that destroyed predicted grades. Enough students dropped by more than 5 points, like by 1 in each subject (I think we can agree that's a lot) And more students dropped by far more. I've forgotten which post it was in but someone mentioned something about a grade dropping from a PG of 40 to a 29. It was bad, for everyone. Marking of IAs was beyond strict, and your internal exam grade fluctuations had a big part to play in determining your final grade, especially where your grades fell short.

  14. that was a lot like you said, but some of our teachers had told us that in pandemic they have lowered the boundaries for ia’s because it was the only thing to use for example for a 7 instead of 20-24 it had been 16-24 or something like that and i was also wondering that how can ib give predicted grades doesn’t our school give them, and ib doesn’t normally have other materials from the 2 years of program to grade how does that work?

  15. Oh that's not how the "No exam route" works. Your predicted won't be what the school gave you, it's calculated by IB based on your past performance in internal exams. They just add IA's because we've already done them. But it isn't gonna be your school's PG, IB will assess you as a candidate themselves. That's why grades dropped so severely from the school PG. Our teachers predict grades based on our momentum and the work you put in as a student, which they factor into how you'll put in work for final, while IB will grade you based on an overview of how you have performed—not as a forecast of your competence and demonstrated capability.

  16. My dad tried killing us all so we got separated and lived with our mom's so I don't really see them that often

  17. I choose to not talk to my brother unless absolutely necessary. He's an asshole and I really dislike him

  18. I can sort of relate to that. My brother tends to be selfish. Though he's an asshole to me, but pretty normal to everyone else, sadly. So it gets hard for me to regard him as an asshole like I'm the only part of his life.

  19. I mean I guess the list direct thing would be bicep curls, but i guess you could play around with your dumbbells a little (assuming you have some)

  20. Hey! I've been working on my legs for a while (and I think they're pretty ripped now, if I may say so myself) but I mostly relied on running and skipping. So I know the jumping rope isn't a machine per se but it really worked wonders for me (my parents don't really have that much money) 😅

  21. IB takes leaks quite seriously. I am recalling a few years ago when exams were leaked in South America and a lot of students had delays in obtaining their final grades, while IB was trying to sort out which students could have taken advantage of the leaked exams. I don't remember the details anymore, but IB does take precautions. Just like on this subreddit, you are not allowed to discuss the exams until at least 24+ hours has passed since the last paper. Minimum possibility to leak anything on this subreddit.

  22. Whoa that's crazy, so how were the IA's graded exactly? I mean, they're supposed to be internally moderated, aren't they?
