I think he really thought he was the savior to this shit situation and that he was a big enough deal to make the pga tour accept whatever the pif wants. I’ve actually been really impressed with Neil’s depth of knowledge this past year. I know he has this character of the young kid and a goof, but I think he’s worked hard to grow out of that and it shows.
Golf is weird and players lose form all the time. Especially considering LIV needs to pay massive signing fees to attract marquee players. You don’t want to spend 100s of millions on dollars and then drop that player after year 1 so disagree.
You just identified the core non-humanitarian issue the golf purists, the majors, and the owgr has with liv. Guaranteeing guys spots in tournaments based off their signing fees and reputation is what diminishes the integrity of the game.
It’s silly to compare liv to the pga tour in this sense. The pga fields are nearly three times as big as liv ones. No one cares if a washed out guy or two is in the field of 140+. When it’s a limited 54 guys in every single tournament, it matters way more.

I think a lot of it is that it occurs so infrequently. There are 14 liv tournaments a year (I think). That means that there are live tournaments on just 12 percent of days in the year and 25 percent of weeks in the year. There’s not much to discuss when golf isn’t being played and it happens so infrequently and randomly. Also, there are several tournaments being played during football season which will only drive US interest down, not as much room for golf in the sports news cycle.

Smiles and hugs for Cam and Leish on the green after they won. But hey, don't let that get in the way of a good Liv bagging on this sub. Kind of a topsy turvy leaderboard with Steele, Lee, Tringale and Kozuma. Hopefully, they and their teams (Iron Heads and Hy Flyers) can hang around one more day. But somehow, you'd expect the players just lurking right behind them (Ortiz, Pereira, Reed, Smith, Burmester, etc) to pass them up. And Torque and maybe the Ripper if they can handle the pressure of the hometown fans.

Champ, no one came close to 20 under after they redid the course and started hosting a WGC. That is the course LIV plays.
