Something like radishes would crop quickly but eventually you will need the space for the suckers (strawberries will last around five years) that will come up once fruited. You could sow some rows of something like rocket or mustard greens, they will crop quickly

You need a new handle just remove the white cap and unscrew the two screws on the handle take it with you to a shop make sure the spindles are the same length
