  1. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-02-05/hyzon-said-to-agree-merger-ipo-with-decarbonization-plus-spac?srnd=premium

  2. Not all that familiar with flairs. Definitely not looking for any recognition or special treatment, just trying to get information to help this community as soon as it's available. So if it helps with that or keeping things organized, then sure!

  3. Just thought you might want some nickname instead of "Is a Bloomber Terminal" lol my flair is the flexed arm and the ball of yarn since everyone misread my name and thinks I like masculine kittens

  4. Haha got it. Happy with whatever flair you guys want to give me. Hope I don't regret saying that.

  5. Lets admit we ALL missed it. You cant invest in all spacs. Pure luck and we have been unlucky on this one.

  6. Simply highlights the value of due diligence for those willing to invest pre-announcement based on quality of management. TPG is a well-known PE shop. Trading in units and commons was thin indicating IPO consisted of large block institutional ownership with strong lock-up agreements. Also surprised by the speed here but has been in the portfolio for a few weeks.

  7. Can you expand on this? You reckon trading being thin indicates strong lockup, I guess that’s a reasonable explanation. But on the other hand, aren’t mostly all investors in these SPACs institutional? What do they do, just dump their shares to the market maker straight away? I posted an article the other day, very interesting, check it out. It said a lot of arbitrage hedge fuss essentially are “lending” money to these SPACs with no downside and sell after the initial pop and have no intentions holding post merger, but even that doesn’t explain the thin trading because even those guys would not make their shares available for trading

  8. A factor probably not accounted for enough in retail SPAC investing is the underwriters. Banks can throw their investment banking team towards making the appropriate connections, arrange a PIPE, use their trading desk for tight market making for liquidity, etc. You seem quite adept at the intricacies of SPACs but for others, just something to keep in mind.
