Mine were impacted like this and one of them also had to be cut out from bone by oral surgeon. It wasn't nearly as bad as it sounds. Didn't feel any different than cavity drilling.
I’m shocked the dentist didn’t refer OP directly to an oral surgeon anyway, but especially after the ortho recommended it. Really good and in-demand dentists always refer out for more complex procedures like this (from my experience) because to oral surgeons, removals like OP’s are every day things. They usually take less than 1 hour to complete.
You need an oral surgeon specifically to consult on this. Both doctors may be somewhat right in this situation, but an oral surgeon should ideally be used in teeth removal procedures that are a little more complex, like this one.
Something also to consider is sort of doing a quick grill/sear on the stove (~5 mins on each side of the chicken), and then baking in oven for like 20 mins above 400 degrees (temp and time may vary depending on cut of chicken and type of oven).
The saga of
Holy mess! I knew the substitute teacher who did that (I was a student at the high school it happened at, and he subbed for a lot of classes). Always tried to say hi and be nice to him walking to class & then a year after I graduated, this story broke when a bunch of kids recognized the classrooms/girls being photographed. Reality check: it may seem cute and all but chunky cats like that are prone to developing diabetes. Tell your friend to do something about the cat's weight for the sake of the cat's health and lifespan.
Yeah, the owner can add years to the pets life by making sure the cat is the appropriate weight. Especially when the cat is older and can’t exercise as much as a young kitty. This picture makes me sad.
