Yea i think its funny how dentists will say "dont brush too hard or youll destroy your enamel". Then will immediately inject me with novacaine so i dont feel them going at my teeth with razor blades and pick axes.
It’s more for your gums. Hard pressure long term with brushing causes recession of the gums.
What the fuck kind of doctor needs the apply a a local anesthetic just to inject you with another anesthetic.
Are you taking about placing a topical anesthetic before injecting the local anesthetic? Because one slightly numbs the skins surface so it’s more comfortable for the injection, which is what actually gets you numb. lol if they’re doing a filling, you’ll definitely want the local anesthetic, not just the topical

There could be a lot of reasons. Many times the wisdom teeth are impacted or not coming in straight, they are too far back to keep clean, etc. they can also be non functional teeth because they are usually smaller than the second molars. The first and second molars are very important to an even bite and if there are large spaces between the teeth, they shift forward toward the midline of the mouth (and not straight). Trust me, getting the wisdom out and keep the others is the much better options

When I was in middle school, had a friend call me and invited me over to her house one summer afternoon. When I was 8 years old I had extreme abdominal pain, vomiting, and fever for about half a day. My mom doesn't have a health science degree, but she worked as a clinic manager for years, so she had a base knowledge. She guessed it was my appendix. She took me to the hospital at 3 am when I just couldn't take the pain anymore. The male night doctor told her it was just the flu WITHOUT taking any tests. He told my mom she was just being an overprotective mom. Thankfully, my mom is not a pushover and demanded he take some tests. So he did. Yep, it was appendicitis and it was close to rupturing. Thankful for my strong mother, not thankful for the doctor that tried to send me home

Well, to be honest I have never heard of an online dental hygiene program. Getting the prerequisites online may be an option, but the actual training of instrumentation really should be something that is taught in person. It is a physical skill that’s takes lots of practice and lots of critiquing. You will also have to practice on live people at some point as well (it’s just not the same on a typodont)

Another thing you can do is ask your dentist to come every 3 months for your cleaning appointments while you have braces. More frequent professional cleaning could be beneficial

Not me, but a friend. She was a waitress at a small town restaurant right on a busy highway, it was common for truckers and travelers to stop there for a bite to eat. My friend is young and attractive, and it wasn’t uncommon for her to get hit on by old men when she was working. One night, she was working late and served the last customer, a semi driver, at around 11 pm. He was older and she noticed he gave her creepy looks, but he left after a quick bite. She locked the place up at midnight, and when she went out to her car, she noticed that the semi was still in the restaurant parking lot after an hour of being served. She figured that the driver was just sleeping there for the night, so she got in her car and started it. As soon as she did, the semi lights came on. She had a 20 minute drive home and she felt like he was following her, so she pulled off the highway into a rest area, and waited 10 minutes until she felt safe enough to get in the highway again. As soon as she did, she noticed the semi had also stopped and had waited for her to get back on the road to start following her again.
Hi, I had a dentist and I brought up this issue many times. I received the same response over and over again. Brush every morning and night. Same old thing. I don't really have an option now other than looking online. But I'll try once again.
Then it sounds like they’re just seeing some gingivitis when you go in, which means just clean the area. You’re probably getting plaque/calc underneath your gums when you experience this, so that’s usually the only thing they can tell you to do to prevent it from happening

The whole, "You're supposed to drink 8 glasses of water a day." It depends on your body weight and exercise level. I see girls that are 100lbs trying to drink 3 full liters of water a day but only a light workout.

I have a real question. Does birth control help with cramps? Or is it better to take like pain killers. I don't get period cramps so I'm asking becaise I keep seeing comments about birth control being used for period pain and I just want to know like what are the better options health wise I'm case they're are ever needed
Before I started birth control I'd get bad cramps, like go home from work/school bad. They were so heavy and irregular so I never knew when I'd get them and pain killers wouldn't work well enough or I couldn't take them due to other medications I'm on. So the pill for me has been a blessing because it put me on a regular cycle, no more cramps, and cleared up my acne. Not to mention some painkillers shouldn't be taken too often because they can cause instestinal ulcers or liver damage.
