1. The rhythm guitar i really like! Not saying i dont like everything else but the fact that its high in the mix sounds really great

  2. Yeah man, this was the first time I played with this guy. Very impressed! He plays a Gibson SG Special with mini hum-buckers into a Fender Tweed amp of some sorts.

  3. Ya man, it has great vibe. I felt like there were parts with a little space and I was waiting for some keys to trickle through, but pretty darn decent.

  4. Thanks. Definitely needs some keys, like Fender Rhodes.

  5. In the Bay Area you should be able to get a lot of gigs. I went into a cafe one time and stayed for an hour because this guy was playing a killer set on vibes, all alone.

  6. Yeah, the only thing is that there are so many other Dead bands here already, and most of them are pretty established. It’s hard getting through that initial door. It would be great to have a weekly or monthly residency somewhere in the city. San Francisco itself is really lacking in Dead music compared to the rest of the Bay Area.

  7. True. Though I think you shouldn’t be afraid to ask at unconventional places in the Bay was kind of my point, since heads pop up everywhere in SF and Oakland.

  8. We definitely lean heavily on the 71‘ to 74’ style stuff. We even have the same/similar instruments! Strat, SG, Guild Starfire Bass, a Donna, and one drummer. Trying to find a keyboardist to get that Keith/Ned Lagin sound.

  9. Quite a list. Curious about your approach…. How intentional were you about individual songs, versus just dropping in albums by artists that you would consider to fit the vibe.

  10. I would say the playlist is comprised of songs that I really like. If I hear a song that I really vibe with that I think others would like I put it in here. There are also quite a few full albums in here.

  11. One of my most favorite things to do besides listening and playing music is sharing songs/albums I think people will like. Since we’re all Deadheads here I’d say it’s safe to assume we have some common ground when it comes to what sounds we like. I hope you find something here that makes you smile, smile, smile. Peace and have a Grateful Life!

  13. Great choice, this song means alot to me, when my brother passed I had to drive his truck back to my mom's house and

  14. 2/18-24/71 was all recorded on multi-track, so were 4/4-6/71, and 4/25-29/71. Parts of these shows were eventually released as “Skull & Roses”, “Ladies & Gentleman”, and bonus tracks on the 50th Anniversary reissues of WD/AB. 10/4-5/70 may have also been multi-tracked as these shows were broadcast on radio and TV. The “Dancing” from 10/5/70 released on the download series sure sounds like a multi-track recording. Also Cow Palace New Years Eve 12/31/76.

  15. Dude I LOVE your tone. Do you play through a twin? Are you running any pedals here? I play through a deluxe and I’m wondering if it’s worth it to get the twin

  16. Thanks! I running a TC Electronic Spark Boost pedal into a Tone Master Twin on the 1Watt setting with the volume on the amp on 10. Compared to a Deluxe I much prefer the sound of a Twin, it has so much more depth, punch, and overall presence in my opinion. You’ll also never have to worry about not being loud enough. Also having that MID control is essential. It also only weighs 33lbs.

  17. Yo fulklani, I thought you had a band at that art gallery.

  18. I still have that band, but we haven’t been meeting up. I’m trying to start up a band that plays more frequently.

  19. Why didn't you just say 71-78? Also, if you're looking for drums, keys, guitar and bass and a Donna... What do you play?

  20. I play guitar, am currently the Jerry role in another band. I didn’t say 75’ because that stuff is too hard to play at the moment.

  21. Duuude - love the screen effect! Cool matchup for that musical choice. Rock on

  22. The studio version of Ship Of Fools is one of my all time top dead tunes and Mars Hotel is my absolute favourite album. However, with the exception of Scarlet, I feel like the songs from Mars Hotel aren't particularly well represented live.

  23. You should be shredding Ain't Talking Bout Love at your age. You are mellow beyond your years.

  24. Thought you did great on the ending. That's one of my favorite parts of the whole Dead catalogue. Great work

  25. Enjoyed that! Each one of these gets better and better.

  26. Take those skillz on the road! My dude!!
