Tip of my hat to you

Shows the Silver Award... and that's it.

When you come across a feel-good thing.

  1. At the Existentialist Café: Freedom, Being, and Apricot Cocktails with Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Albert Camus, Martin Heidegger, Maurice Merleau-Ponty and Others by Sarah Bakewell

  2. This is not science. This is not research. This is a sales page.

  3. I adore the world Gail Carriger started in her Parasol Protectorate series. She spun it off into a couple of other related series. They’re a fun mix of absurd humor, fantasy/paranormal, steampunk, and a bit of romance.

  4. Yeah, these. Steampunk werewolf-vampire Victorian urban fantasy, with a touch of paranormal romance. I've never been able to really figure out a reading order, but starting with the Parasol Protectorate series seems to be a solid entry point, and leave the Custard Protocol books for last, because they're all the next generation of the previous characters. I was just kind of picking them up from the library as they became available. Oh, and very LGBTQ+ friendly, too. Good books.

  5. I read them in publication order, but most of them weren’t out when I started. Miss Gail has a post for reading order with multiple suggestions.

  6. Most of the time i don’t remember that they’re called cairns so I call them the pile of rocks that mark the trail. They mean I’m going the right way on a hike. Super helpful on poorly marked trails.

  7. The kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss has been with me for around 14 years and The wise mans fear (The 2nd book in the unfinished trilogy) is still by far the best book I have read and i will surely continue to re-read it until I die.

  8. Still looks like a jelly so don't touch it

  9. I saw stupid kids gathering them in plastic cups.

  10. If you have solved your "What is this" question, please change the flair by clicking the flair button and selecting "Solved", or by saying "solved" in any comment.

  11. Exactly what I was going to say. My dogs used to eat these when I lived up north and then they would get sick

  12. Same! It appears that they removed the step of adding/removing and now the only option is to download. But the only way to “remove” episodes is to mark them as played. It’s a bummer.

  13. Is that Justice Beaver in the lower right corner?

  14. Were there cool moments? Yes! Did those cool moments make up for the rest of the season’s deficiencies? Absolutely not.

  15. So they’re taking The Office away from us in the U.S. and charging more for what’s left. 😑
