1. Not to mention that it killed all kinds of animals/wildlife.

  2. Dead animals = more disease(s) that can spread to humans, but whatever. People's pets were affected by the train derailment, as well, but fuck them too I guess.

  3. I care more about humans than pets. Apparently on this subreddit that’s a controversial take.

  4. Oof. Poor guy is gonna have a bruise for like a month

  5. Still bummed they broke up the Blues/Redwings division rivalry. I get it was because you guys had super late night games, but damn!

  6. Being a former Rams fan, I hope they stay in Arizona. The fan base has been jerked around similar to how the Rams fans were.

  7. Tough Choice but we going with Ozzie over Roger

  8. I don’t think we can overlook Hornsby’s 7 batting titles, 2 MVPs and 121 WAR.

  9. You've mentioned almost everything here and this is one of the most comprehensive and concise outlines I've seen for how the Cardinals have taken a nosedive in recent years. The one thing I would add is that the owner cares more about things like maximizing profits from ballpark village than constructing a winning baseball team. The reason the org has done things like preach ground ball outs instead of strikeouts is because strikeouts are expensive. When the owner doesn't give you the resources to compete with the top teams in the league, then you're fucked. Unless you're the Rays. But as you've outlined, even if DeWitt actually gave a shit about baseball we'd still probably suck because Mo is a rare breed of incompetence.

  10. This is what I think a lot of people don’t realize, hard to construct a winning lineup when the owner doesn’t want to go out and spend on top free agents. Has been abundantly clear with how our starting rotation has been patched together with hopes and dreams. That’s not to say the FO can’t do better, they absolutely can, but the owner is the one preventing the large spending.

  11. Yeah, I know. Should have taken Shaq though.

  12. Shaq said recently that Laettner deserved it more than him at the time.

  13. I think it’s time to accept that a World Series is not the goal of this front office. We might have some years where we have a really exciting regular season or a player with a breakout year, but the FO is not a serious group. It would be different if the only controversial move they made was doing something like demoting Walker. Or if they were actually winning. But it’s a combination of so many things.

  14. It’s not just the FO. The ownership doesn’t want to open the wallet to show to be a serious contender.

  15. I believed Frank Thomas was the greatest player ever. I’m 45 and I haven’t changed my mind.

  16. Steve Howe from Yes. Man could play anything from ragtime to flamenco to old fashioned rock n roll

  17. This is a really great movie, highly recommend! One of my faves.

  18. Very underrated. Watched it in a film class. Had never heard of it at the time and have never heard anyone really talk about it since.

  19. Is subzero still open?! Sadface I don't think it is

  20. It isn’t, unfortunately. A lot of places closed in the CWE during Covid.

  21. Han’s Garage from cinematic masterpiece Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift?

  22. Honestly I'm getting tired of hearing about Kroenke. People need to get over it. It was 7 years ago it's time to move on.

  23. Nothing is over! Nothing! You just don’t turn it off! It wasn’t my war! You asked me, I didn’t ask you! And I did what I had to do to win! But somebody wouldn’t let us win!

  24. Lol In all fairness, comparing St. Louis to Chicago is comparing apples to oranges. Third biggest city in the US to the ~twentieth. Cubs/Cardinals rivalry is the shit though. I love both cities personally.

  25. Actually, if you're only taking the City of St. Louis numbers into account, it's more like the 70th largest city in the US. However, if everyone could get on board with reunifying the city and the county, that 300,000 give-or-take population figure would become 1.3 million which I don't think would put us in the Top Ten, but it would be quite a few rungs higher than #70.

  26. I’m talking the whole metro area for both cities. Since counting only the city skews it a bit.

  27. The Blues drafting Tage Thompson 26OA and Jordan Kyrou 35OA in the 2017 draft looks pretty damn good.

  28. I know he’s the whipping boy, but parayko at 86th overall is a great pick.

  29. Jerricho Cotchery was a huge piece for us in 2015 as a go to guy for third down conversions. Having an elite possession guy is a massively underrated asset for an offense.

  30. The Eagles had a top defense all year but fell apart in the Super Bowl against one of the best quarterbacks of all time, so Eagles fans now hate the guy and are glad he's gone.

  31. I have absolutely no skin in the game with this convo, but I just love seeing about 30 Eagles fans absolutely seething in the replies.

  32. The 1969 mustang is a stunner, so is the s197

  33. I think many movies "based on a true story" are susceptible to this.
