This is why we need to start thinking that abuse does not pretain to one gender. This is so fucked up. She's only going to jail for 16 months. This was not the first assault. Men should have support too.

  1. We were never truly united. We’re just 50 individual countries and change in one big trench coat.

  2. We started as 13 countries, but before a few decades were out we were already reforming ourselves from an American Union into an American country. All my life I've been an American first. Helps that my parents moved a decent amount, as did I with no major changes as we did so.

  3. Each state has its own government, laws, taxes, and social services. I’m amazed the union has lasted this long.

  4. I hate to be that guy, but did she really killed him ? He apparently died from an heart attack one week later, not from his injuries.

  5. Sever trauma and stress can cause even the healthiest person to drop like a rock without warning.

  6. The vast majority of shootings are committed with handguns.

  7. I thought you were being sarcastic or something but holy shit.

  8. It really wasn’t as big a deal as it was made out to be. Things got a little bit melty (meaning it will be a pain to decommission) but never actually leaked into the surrounding environment. Just a few years ago the second reactor vessel at Three Mile Island was still producing power.

  9. There is a reason we have the ability to amend the constitution.

  10. You realize the constitution and the first amendment particularly is the only thing protecting people like you and I from these lovely religious folks? With their numbers they could easily pass legislation in the US against non believers and other religions without the first amendment. Why in the world would we change the best part of our constitution?

  11. It is a term used to classify countries with a social, economic and political criterion, first world being the highest level and third world the lowest level

  12. It originated during the Cold War to describe NATO and The West as the first world, the Communists (USSR, China, etc) as the second world, and any nonaligned national as the third world.

  13. This was only present on soviet kamov helicopters. All other helicopters use autorotation to soften the landing in the event of failure.

  14. I wonder why they are so uncommon, the US developed such a system for an experimental helicopter that got canceled and they didn't think the ejection part was worth keeping?

  15. At the speeds and altitudes American attack helicopters operate at, you most likely wouldn’t have time to press the button to eject. You probably wouldn’t even have time to think to yourself “oh fuck...”

  16. No, that's how you get more drugs. Banning things is usually a pretty good way to get them off the streets.

  17. My dude the feds cant even keep drugs out of federal prison. Stop trolling and go back to Kentucky.

  18. “Valid claim supported by science and many years of research”

  19. Wikipedia estimates that from 1939 to 1945 there were 809,693 aircraft produced on all sides of WW2.

  20. What about the Gulf War, and the Korean War? And these are only some of the larger examples.

  21. Is that something they added after the KURSK tragedy?

  22. To my knowledge these are old, late 1980’s, and on the occasion that one was actually used in an emergency it all went wrong and only one man escaped the pod alive. I believe it was submarine K-278.

  23. Just let your kids go play inside the dome in Chernobyl, why don't you? It's obviously nothing anyone needs to be warned about.

  24. You are completely incoherent and hysterical. You started this off by asking what would be done with the fuel.

  25. You don't let a child use a sharp weapon until you are sure that child understands the dangers. The same goes for nuclear fuel. Yes, the technology has made leaps and bounds since the 1950s -- what hasn't? -- but have corresponding leaps and bounds been made in safe nuclear waste storage and disposal?

  26. For the second time, the waste can be turned into new fuel. It does not need to be stored or disposed of.

  27. How to properly handle a firearm and not treat it like a damn toy.

  28. If you have any sense of self preservation treat everyone at a public range like a suicidal maniac.

  29. first off you're telling me you believe that school shootings would stay at the same rate as they are at if guns werent legal? (or at least some form of gun control) that's ridiculous where would a teenager get that much money? also as it stands teenagers have guns readily available to them at home.

  30. I’m telling you that you are a naive person. You do understand cheap firearms are only a few hundred dollars brand new right? Never mind buying them illegal for likely much less.

  31. God willing, it wouldn't be that bad, but i want to be clear. I do not support a ban on firearms. I simply believe that gun owners should be required to demonstrate that they can exercise sound judgment in their ownership and use of their firearms, kinda like we do before letting a person drive. In this instance, a simple backround check that includes a psych profile and the requirement that you pass a gun safety class.

  32. Background checks are required federally, and psych work ups are being tossed around at the state level. Also how do you think you get a gun license? Do you think you just apply? You have to take a course. All of these things are already required in some way.

  33. Except that amendements exist because someone had the balls and will to say that your constitution needed to be updated. So what i'm saying is your politicians have no balls.

  34. When we tried to amend it to outlaw slavery... It started a civil war. When we tried to amend it to outlaw alcohol, well, you saw how well that went. I can only imagine the carnage that would ensue trying to ban firearms in the most firearm-rich nation in the world.

  35. The Bible. The true word of God, although the Torah is basically the first five books of the Bible and they’re all somewhat similar

  36. Well basically all religious scholars agree that the Quran and especially the Torah share many similarities with the Old Testament. However since I’m sure you were asking about how I can prove the Bible is the Word of God, that’s called faith my friend :)

  37. I think this is more a demonstration of the suspension than the stabilizer.

  38. Well that will be handy when they invade France..

  39. It wouldn’t turn you a fleshy mass but you would very definitely be out cold.

  40. No science is a great tool. But it shouldn’t supersede common sense.

  41. Have you looked at how small NASA’s budget is compared to the military?
