Actually read the cheat sheet that came with your washer and dryer. I didn't know mine had a pre-wash setting and a steam setting. If you have animals, washing their bedding thoroughly using these settings can save you and them by eliminating allergens and diseases.
I can agree on the safety bar thing. I played college football in the USA, and during the shorter breaks I'd stay at school, since it wasn't worth flying to Denmark for. We had a wellness center across the street of my apartment, where I'd work out to stay in shape for spring ball. It was pretty new, and since I couldn't work out at my team's gym during breaks, it was my only option. The wellness center had 2 multipurpose squat racks, where the bar was fixated horizontally and vertically. This means that the bar can only turn for something like 45 degrees. I had to learn this the hard way. During a break, I was working out with 2 friends, starting out with squats. My PR for squats was 475 lbs at the time, and during the work out I was working up to a set of 385 lbs x 5. I was knocking the first reps out the park, but on the last rep my legs gave out. The safety bars were set, but unfortunately for me, they were 1 notch too low. When my legs gave out, I tried to toss the bar off my back, but because the bar couldn't roll off my back, I got stuck under. I heard 3 "plings" coming from my lower back, and started having a stinging pain. During summer break, I still had pains, so I went to a physical therapist who told me I had 4 dislocated vertebraes. She said, she couldn't do anything about it. Went to a doctor a few years later, and had an MRI. Turns out I had something called a paramedian HIZ lesion on L5/S1. Still dealing with it today. I don't know if I should blame my friends, or the producer of the squat rack.

Sounds like PTSD - a good place to start is to read everything you can about it.
