1. For all the people asking where I got them, the metal shells are from boxy pixel. The labels are from MatthewMods on etsy, and the cover art for the cases are from The Cover Project.

  2. Unpopular opinion but it’s kinda sad to see that real PCBs are being sacrificed for these… in many years time people won’t be able to tell if these are fake or not until they open it up.

  3. They're not being "sacrificed" considering they still work, and can still be put back in original casing any time OP wants. Also I don't think anybody getting a new cart shell to make it look cooler is that interested in selling their stuff.

  4. They’re the same size as the original cartridges, so they work perfectly fine. All but pkmn gold are made of aluminum, so they’re non conductive, and there’s no issues. The other is brass, but with a little bit of kapton tape it also has no issues.

  5. I just liked the idea of purple more than light blue lol. Either option I would have to spray paint it, and I figured purple would turn out better than light blue with glitter.

  6. So far no. I’ve avoided using them with my metal gba, but for plastic on metal, as long as I don’t jam them in there lmao it’s fine

  7. Lol of course I would never toss the OG cases, my originals labels were pretty messed up, which is why I did this in the first place

  8. Do you happen to have any pics of the clear anodized shell? I’m interested in it but I can’t find photos on boxy pixel’s website.

  10. The aluminum ones are a little bit heavier, but not really noticeable. The brass one that pkmn gold is in is way heavier, to the point where it’s heavier than the actual console lol
