1. I'd only do it if it's really specific. Since the pregnant detective part is, I would mention it in a note. Not to credit it, but to be open about where the idea came from.

  2. Depends on what you're doing with it. If you're doing a sufficiently transformative/different take on it, then no (Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit all have different takes on exactly the same opening - it's possible to do very different versions of the same idea). If you're literally taking the scenario wholesale and keeping the details mostly the same, then I'd say it's a good idea to at least mention it.

  3. I took a plot point from Kamen Rider Kuuga. The main character goal is to fight for a world so that everyone can smile. In my fanfic, I gave my character that motivation, to have his idealistic nature be tested in situations where he loses or takes sacrifices.
