As cool as the robot heads are , I kind of wonder what their careers would be like if they didn’t wear helmets. As far as faces go these two have a really cool look to them. Almost looking like the characters in their anime movie. What I’m trying to say is they had the right aesthetic. But I’m glad they came up with the helmets as it really created a mystic around them.

Fun fact (I Guess): they started experimenting with French House after going to a House Party. There they saw that the people going to "Concerts" like those, just enjoyed the music, no one was there to just wait for the band to play their favourite song. This was my first cd. My first cassette was license to ill. Everything changed for me in 1997. Buying Home Works was a couple months before my dad died to cancer and I was sent away to a boarding school. Lost my family and friends and was all alone in a strict boarding school at fresh 16. This album is my favourite and remains my all these years later and thinking back now is kinda like a puzzle piece as to the root of where everything went off the rails for me as I try to rebuild my current life. Sigh.

and the other half of that band went on to create Phoenix who made songs like Lisztomania.

I'm still looking for the interview in the 90s of them at Much Music in Toronto where they wore plastic masks that had like the eyebrow lines and mouth lines and eye lines, but we're basically clear, but fucked up how you looked. It was my first visual of them and it was definitely a moment of them deciding to be faceless... If anyone has a video or screengrab, I love you. I look for it every few years.
