1. Maybe you can check the minimum process state on that power profile. Your high performance mode may be keeping your processor at its full power mode and not letting it throttle down.

  2. I think it's quite normal, mine does the same. Depends on ambient temperatures as well, in summers idle is like 50ish maybe 60 sometimes, in winters it goes as low as 35-40.

  3. Also if your not gaming honestly theres not really any need to have it in high performance, I've always got it on battery saver will make a significant differance on your temps and fan noise. And a polar bear might just give you blow job for it.
