1. The dealer near here is saying that there'd be a 3 to 6 month wait time. Also, thought the insurance is going to be higher on the new one.

  2. I would consider what caused the fuse to pop in the first place, and is a house fire worth the cost of a new instant pot.

  3. That was just a rookie error of not putting the original pot inside.

  4. Your spouse must be listed and rated (if licensed) on your insurance policy. Always! That first agent is basically telling your friend to commit fraud. It’s misrepresentation to lie and not add your spouse just because it will be more expensive; and grounds for having the policy non-renewed and any claims potentially denied.

  5. Hi, however, here and in many places it says, "Even if a spouse of the named insured is not named on a policy, auto liability insurance almost always covers the spouse as well, while driving any car."

  6. NC law requires a driver to provide proof of liability insurance to obtain a driver license, even if they don’t own a car. The agent telling your friend not to add his wife is committing fraud. Also, most carriers will “cede and strip” a policy if they discover an licensed household driver that is not listed on the policy.

  7. All right, thanks. It's just that it costs almost double to add the 2nd uninsured driver that he wasn't sure. But it looks like better do it even if spouse doesn't drive at all.

  8. For a Toyota 40 thousand miles is nothing. With Covid affecting the auto industry, 24 grand doesn't seem that bad at all actually. As long as it has a clean Carfax and no damage I would say you're good to go. Also 40k for a one year vehicle suggest a lot of highway miles, which is actually a good thing, since it's not stop and go traffic. Highway/freeway miles is much less stress on a vehicle than city driving.

  9. Inspection report says tread on the tire is 5/32. Is that something to worry about?

  10. How much does it cost to have them changed? About $1000 for 4 tires?

  11. Hi, I am shocked at your OTD of $18900. They are quoting $24000 for this now in 2022, BUT it has the convenience package on it.

  12. Can you please tell what's the use of this and if it's been a good thing to buy?

  13. Or, your child realized that he was dumb and then made up a quick reason to justify his action.

  14. Sorry, so the 2021 Toyota Corolla LE with Convenience Package (has Android Auto which Prius doesn't have) has around 35K miles and costs $24K Out the door.

  15. Also, we're definitely looking for something with BlindSpot Monitoring.

  16. Larger wheels help make the ride more rough and tires more expensive.

  17. While test driving, the Prius did hit the bottom of a high bump (which was intentionally put in at the dealership) and made a noise. So, I was scared about its clearance. It had 15 inch wheels.

  18. Thanks. Are there any advantages of having a smaller wheel vs larger wheel?

  19. Don't accept the role. Your experience at IBM is good if you have a good manager. If the manager doesnt give a fuck your roommate will be miserable

  20. It's an internal role transfer in NC. So, she'd have to let the current manager know before taking on the new role. And this uncertainty is making her miserable. The current manager said she'll match the pay of whatever the new role is paying - so she can't decide.

  21. Is the state you will be employed in an at will state? If so your roommate can always change their mind about working at IBM even after you have been hired on. I had the same experience and I promptly quit after getting a new job offer at a much better company for much better pay, and a way better boss.
