1. If you have an inline fan, get a piece of 6” ducting and pull the cooler air off of the floor out of that vent in your photo. Really helped me switching to a top vent in my cold basement

  2. I’ve got a 4” inline blower and filter at the top of my tent, drawing stale air out. Have a 6” blower and filter coming in the mail any day now. I was thinking about how to use them both. Ima take advantage of the 4/20 sale at AC infinity and get that Cloudline T7 humidifier and the 69 pro controller. I think that’ll get me right.

  3. I am on day 7 of my first grow. I have an older model 6” Aci in my basement 4x4. I was having a tough time keeping my temps up using the bottom 6” port and ducting as my intake. My basement is a constant 61. I really struggled keeping my temps in the 70s, until I put 4” ducting in one of my top ports, and I built a subfloor and use pot risers to add a buffer to the cold concrete. I used safety wire and a couple of nails to suspend the upper ducting it into the ceiling rafters, and my temps stay at 73 during the day and 68 at night. I have the 69 pro and the T7. Spend the little extra for the 8 port I could easily grow into that in the future. I can’t really run my t7 much past 1, and my rh is around 30% in my basement. You can probably get away with the smaller one, if you want to save a few bucks.

  4. The only thing I’ve found to be worth buying in Michigan is their concentrate. In my limited experience the flower isn’t really cheap enough to justify a trip, and the quality of several places top shelf is hardly as good as the discounted “Supply” we can get here for $60-$70 a half oz. I’d load up on dab supplies, and bring back your friends some of those moonrock prerolls or something as souvenirs. -you’ll also get 20% off at a lot of places if you have an OH med card

  5. This is the way. If you wanna mimic hydro yields with living soil, grab an earthbox or autopot

  6. I’m barely into the first week of my first grow, running autopots and I am already looking at the autopot/earthbox/buidasoil bed on the tray to grow, lol. I just dropped a metric fuckton of money, and am hardly know what I’m doing.. Already bought several books on mineral rebalancing, and the soil food web, and am looking to start vermacomposting in the grow room soon. I’m a long ways away, but it will happen

  7. Does your front fender actually work? Considering adding one to my scrambler

  8. I’m only speaking from “book” knowledge, as I’m in very early stages of my first run, but you don’t even have any mature pistil color in photo 3. Unless that bud is low on the plant, I’d give it more time. I’d like to reiterate that I don’t actually know shit, but my untrained eye says to let it run while you wait on a macro or jewelers lens to see where you’re actually at

  9. It’s foxtailing, the bud is high on the plant, it’s new pistils popping up late due to stress heat/light, thanks tho

  10. Like I said, I don’t actually know shit, lol. Couldn’t tell where that one was located. You know better than me. Good lock dude!

  11. I want to do the same, kinda. I’m in the seedling stage of my first grow, with 4x 3.9s. I’m already planning on starting a lil worm farm soon, so I can split the system and run a coots style mix next run in half my tent and run the same coco in the other. Really not sure if I want to run the tray to grow with an earth box, or xxl in the biggest fabric pot I can find.

  12. I got a buddy who uses the earthbox with living soil. He swears by it. I almost went wirh it but got these instead. Wondering if I made the wrong choice now. Only problem with the earthbox is u have to rig a rez to it

  13. They make a smaller version now that fits the easytogrow. It’s like 33”x14” and holds 23 or 25 gal of soil. You can get them from buildasoil. You can also just buy the bottom tray and put your own internals in it, with the $20 raised fabric bed autopot sells and experiment next round (what I plan to do). I got my autopots from a friend, and it was 2 sets of 2, so I have 2 of everything. I eventually may run 2 of those lil earth box’s, but I want to learn what I’m doing and keep it as a control to compare before I full send having 100 gallons of soil, rotting plant material and bugs internationally growing in the basement of my rental house, lol.

  14. I’m about as far along in my first grow as you.. You have room for 1-2 of those, unless ya get real creative.

  15. Lmao 🤣 I'm getting light set up tomorrow and I'll be all set. Still debating running my T7 humidifier inside of outside the tent tho

  16. You may have space in there now, but you might not down the road. You may not even be needing it once the plant starts helping you produce humidity. -I’d set it up outside just to give you added flexibility later.

  17. Do you have your cords daisy chained to 1 port or all your components on separate ports?

  18. Mine are all on separate ports. Where I went wrong was setting the min/max. I had the min to 1 on the T7, and if it runs on the lowest setting in my 4x4 it’s easy to achieve 97%+ rh, lol. I also accidentally had my light power in the app set to 3/10 and as well as the schedule. It was just acting crazy until I noticed and just set min/max to 10, since i have it dimmed on the actual fixture (mars fce6500). Still trying to completely dial in a cheap little “smart” space heater I bought, but everything else is going great.

  19. I have 2 different mephisto strains growing and popped 3 different seeds to throw in next. My thought is I can see what I like and then kinda go from there. I have never smoked any mephisto strains yet so I have been gauging my interest based off pictures and grow journals.

  20. It’s all new to me, lol. I think despite my desire for variety, I’ll prob just do the ww, and the CDLC. My logic being the WW takes a lil longer to finish, and I would prefer to stager 1 harvest than 3 or 4. If I was smarter, the double grape and CDLC have the same canopy height and finish ranges, but I don’t want two Indica/indica leaning plants

  21. From what I understand there is variation in what to expect from some of the strains in terms of size, length of time to reach maturity etc... I actually have been doing perpetual with other genetics and plan to continue that, it's nice to have a few plants to harvest each month once you get it rolling. Either way have fun and enjoy your grow.

  22. Perpetual is my eventual goal as well. It was one of the main reasons autos sparked my interest in the first place. It will be interesting to see how it works with the autopots, since everything is connected. I think if you get a balance in one plant, they tend to balance out over time, since the plant can pull whatever it wants. Guess I’ll find out in a few weeks lol. And yeah, I’m not too worried about size of the plants. I just particularly don’t want to harvest 3 over 3 weeks or something. My grow tent is currently my best option for drying. It would also be nice to have a naturally more even canopy, but I’ll probably lst the sativas and see how it goes.

  23. I feel your pain. I’ll go look at the same light 10x and still be like I’ll wait 🤦‍♂️

  24. Just wait until you have everything. Then you get to do the same shit with genetics/ media/ nutes all over again, lol. I just fully set my first tent up today. I have no experience using it yet but my mars fce6500 feels impressive in my 4x4, plus it’s expandable with uv/ir/ and deep res lights. Pretty cool if they have one small enough for you, but I never compared much of anything. I got it used for a great deal from a friend, so I was sold already.

  25. He up-sold you a bunch of stuff you don't need. If this is your first grow, keep it simple. All you need is a $20 bag of 1-part dry hydro salts like maxibloom or megacrop (they have a promo for a free bag if you pay for shipping). One bag will last you multiple grows. Canna nutes are fine too. But you definitely don't need 6 bottles for your first grow.

  26. He sold me on the brand, but did offer it to me “as simple as possible or the full line”. I said that I kinda wanna go mad scientist, so the qty is my fault. He didn’t think I needed the second veg bottle, or I’d have another bottle.. I would have bought additional Cana products too, tbh. My brain is not happy idol, so I tend to dive deep into any hobby out of the gate. My thought process is that IF things go well, I can attempt to utilize the full potential of my light, which I need a higher feed level to pull off. I’m obviously still learning, so this is more of a goal than an expectation. I’ll happily accept the outcome of my mistakes and failures. I’ve just had an idea in my head for years of what I was going to do when it legalized in my state, and it’s here. I’m overly excited, and know it’s not recommended to start with autos or mass salts, but I’ll sure as shit learn something from my experiment, lol. For now, I just want to know if others have found it “safe” to follow their feeding chart at full strength. -Next grow, I will absolutely be splitting the system into two and trying a super soil next to the science lab. I am well aware I should follow your advice, and I do appreciate it. I just one of the dudes that’s “has” to start at the wrong end of the maze.

  27. My bad, I made a huge assumption there. I like keeping my grows cheap and simple, but I'm also a huge plant nerd so I totally see where you're coming from. I haven't used this nute line but with any nutes, I'd recommend starting at 1/4 strength and increasing with each watering, watching how the plant reacts. Auto seedlings can be sensitive to high ECs and high nitrogen.

  28. Thanks man, I’ll check the links out when I stop tinkering in the lab. I’ve read “DIY Autoflowering Cannabis”, but he is all about organics, which I’m not ready for yet. Always helpful to have additional reliable resources!

  29. I’m about to pop the same exact beans in a week or two, plus whatever freebie they gave me. It will be my first grow, and I’m pumped. Looking good dude!

  30. Man I’m so pumped for you! FF CocoLoco, grow dots nutes, and calmag is really all I’ve done to get a great sized frosty girl. Also, make sure your light is low enough while sprouting… this girl way over stretched and I had to prop her up

  31. I have adhd and anxiety.. I’ll be making quick reference charts and schedules for everything important. I got a meter/ measuring device for everything, lol. Installed a louver for my exhaust last night, and my work bench is basically done. Setting up the tent for a dry run tonight, so I can dial vpd in. Hopefully popping beans next weekend!

  32. Oh I been a illegal warrior now it's legal for about ten years now for me. I personally don't do all that B's to much work I don't even ph my water dude 😂

  33. I worked in pharmacy for 10 years, and decided to go back to school for aircraft mechanics last year (in my mid 30s). I got my medical card years ago, just so I can’t (easily) get any kind of drug charge. I can work around drug tests, but any kind of charge would completely fuck me. As for the set up, I have adhd, and I like to tinker with shit. When I get into something, I tend to hyperfixate and go as hard as possible. I wanted to go full “science lab” this run, but I might switch it up later. The beauty of the Autopot, is you can use them with any medium. If you run soil, it basically automates your watering system, or you can use the reservoir to fertigate like a classic hydro system, or whatever yer heart yerns for. You can also take the valve out and get a lil cover for it, and turn any tray into a self watering pot base that regulates the level, for multiple plants or giant pots.

  34. I know what they are I've seen them before but congrats I hope it goes well for you

  35. I believe you can reuse it, but you have to pick out all the roots, rinse it and buffer it. It seems like a lot of work, but I have no experience, yet. I’m about done getting set up to start my first run, but here is a good resource that definitely addresses your question with instructions:

  36. Nice, yeah ordering direct from Mephisto is always a treat, especially with "meph math" (every pack of seeds has at least one or two extras). Honestly the freebies are every bit as interesting to me as the rest of their stuff, but I'm a novelty seeker. Hope you enjoy your grow, sounds like you've got some great seeds there!

  37. Thanks! Send thoughts and prayers, lol. I’ve done a ton of research, but a huge percentage of the shit online and in books is so general, and even contradictory. I’m also going to be running autopots, which adds a layer of complexity to learning, since they work backwards of most systems, and half the people I see using them are using them incorrectly or unconventionally. Anyway, getting started is overwhelming, but I’m finally doing it.

  38. I'm still pretty inexperienced myself, and yeah the amount of contradictory info can be almost maddening. To muddy the waters even further, they say don't top autos, but mine have been totally fine just a day later. They say start autos in the final pot, but my best ones have been transplanted twice. So who knows!

  39. 2 weeks ago, a friend offered me a really nice complete 4x4 with 4 new autopots, for less than he should have. My state just legalized this year, so I’m finally getting to send it. I’ve built out a cool tiny workshop in an old toilet stall out of scrap and random salvaged items. I’m trying to give it “secret room” vibes, so it’s more enjoyable to spend time down there. I had to build a halfassed subfloor to level the tent base, and get the pots away from the cold concrete. All I have left is to clean everything, lay the subfloor back in once the paint drys. I want to dial in my system, and learn how to use all of my fancy gear properly. I’ll be popping seeds in a week or two 🤘

  40. Nice! I've got the airbases without airdomes I'm going to try as I'm running fabric pots and was gonna skip the clay cuz I think i recall reading that it can swing the pH? I was looking up Flowmax, did you mean Floramax? Sounds like a solid plan.

  41. Yes, floramax! If I remember correctly, clay *can swing your ph. I think you HAVE to get a ph stable clay in particular, and I think you have to rinse it too. I think it’s similar to the issues people have with coco and cal/mag deficiencies. Wrong product choices + skipping prep can cause ph problems. I think I read that in coco for cannabis grow guide, but there’s a slight chance I’m feeding you false info. Check out the coco for cannabis website, if ya wanna confirm. You and I are in the same boat, growmie. I can tell by your post that your headspace is the same as mine right now, lol. I just want the best outcome I can get, and there are so many options and opinions. I just completely finished my shopping today. I’m building out a workbench and shelving for my grow space tomorrow, and seeing how far I can get setting up. I’m trying to sprout seeds at the end of the month as well, but I will be doing autoflowers. It might be kinda fun to stay in contact through our journey. Worst case, we could probably learn a bit from each other’s failures, lol.

  42. Same boat for sure! I'm doing autoflowers too😂 Hoping to have mine sprouting in about a month from now! I bought my kit used, and it came with airbases so I haven't really read into the clay balls since it sounds like the airbases should work in a similar and fashion and give me one less medium to worry about washing/buffering etc. I'll be looking forward to seeing how your first grow goes!

  43. I skipped the clay too. Check back in when you’re close to germinating your seeds. If we’re on a similar timeline I’ll pop mine the same day. I’ll send ya a dm

  44. Looks great! Legalization passed in my state this year. Got a killer deal on a used set up from a friend. Just waiting for some upgraded internals and fittings from Autopot before my journey begins. I’ll poop my pants with pride n joy if any of my 4 plants turn out like that.

  45. Had a great rookie season five sure. Hoping to keep the momentum going. Have 90% more knowledge this time. Thanks man, and good luck with your grow adventures! Hope you have as much fun as I did, and get lots of marijuanas.

  46. I’ve been dying to grow since I was a teenager, so I’ll have fun regardless of the outcome. I’m going to start with autoflowers. Send thoughts n prayers they are forgiving to my inevitable mistakes and shortcomings, lol.

  47. My friend has that lil tent for his mother plants. I think the tent itself is actually really nice. If I get a second tent later, I’d spend the extra $100 for the ac complete 2x4, but just because I already have the 4x4 w/ control 69. I think whatever works is great.

  48. I'd say read coco for cannabis and you need a ph and ec pen or don't even bother! Armed with that, you will get weed. Don't use AN, that line is not good in autopots.

  49. I’ll do that. I was going to buy the Apera Ai209 testing kit. I’m still not 100% on medium, but I don’t think I want to deal with soil. I’ve got the cannabis grow bible, diy autoflower is on the way. I’ll continue to do my research before I start. I don’t know the nutes, but autopotamus seems to do great with 100% canna coco, and the only training he does is leaf tucking. Not sure if that will work for me, but simple is good.

  50. I yried soil once, been doing 50/50 coco and perlite, much more predictable. I've heard canna is good stuff. Watch shen you start to flower for phosphorus Def. I seem to get it even when I try and jump ahead. It always seems to resolve with heavier Blume nute dosage.

  51. Thanks for the heads up! The only thing I had read is to start feeding slowly. I think the canna runs a lil hot. I hadn’t heard anything about phos def issues, but definitely good to go. I’ve learned a ton, but it’s all just theory. I’ll lack confidence and question my decision until I get some actual experience under my belt. I feel great about this system though. I was going to make a top fed recirculating dwc, but it’s almost as expensive to build as to buy from pa hydro. Really glad he had these autopots laying around to change my mind.

  52. $650 is slightly more than just the light alone

  53. It was more a space issue I was hung up on. Turned out to be a 4x4, which fits my space perfectly. He gave me a brand new 4x autopot system, mounted fan, 5x kiwi crush autos from gas reaper, and 6x mimosa x orange punch by Barry’s, and a digital microscope for $770. Still a lot of prep and learning to do before I start, but I’m well on my way.

  54. You hit the jackpot dude that’s a great deal. Be sure to show your appreciation to your friend! Lol you’ll get it in no time, you have the tools to grow some fire bud now :)

  55. Yeah, I expressed my gratitude and promised to bug the shit out of him with my progress. Definitely feel fortunate to have save masssss money, and ended up with exactly what I want.

  56. Who’s your top contender? I am starting my first grow soon, and was leaning mephisto. Real open to suggestions
