  2. When I see people who have kids talking about this, the argument is that people had kids during world wars, Cold War/nuclear scares, and that arguably we are living in the safest time to have kids in comparison. I think a lot of these people are aware of collapse, particularly climate issues, but come from a perspective of “we survived all that and we will survive this”. A small group of people think their kids could be the ones to ‘fix’ the climate, antibiotic resistance, etc.

  3. I felt this way when seeing Fern Gully as a child. If the adults were aware of the problem, why did they have to make Captain Planet and FG to educate us so we would grow up to fix it? Why didn't the adults that made that ish fix it?

  4. There was a great series called "Incorporated". It was very short lived, people can't handle the truth.

  8. Hydatid worm, E. granulosus. You get it from fecal oral contamination.

  9. Or the opposite.. If your enemy is under an atmospheric stream of moist air you could continually shoot cloud seeding rockets above them to drop rain on them. An endless deluge of heavy rain would flood their cities and transport routes, disrupt industry, ground flights, destroy crops etc...

  10. It's always good with the language, like i'm from Switzerland and so i had to learn french, once you switch to their language their behavior can change. 14. In Connecticut, it seems like it's raining every other day. Pouring. In Connecticut, Hartford County, we received 7.65 inches of rain in March. Normal is 4.16 inches, or 204% of the normal rainfall. For a three month period, we received 161% of normal. It is raining so much, that people around make jokes about "thank goodness its raining again we can really use it ...."

  22. I just read a study yesterday, a decrease in sulfur emissions and that underwater volcano that put a lot of water into the atmosphere combined to have almost zero effect on the temperature increase. We are just seeing warming that was expected and is part of the normal CO2 effect + El Nino. Studies and models weren't wrong, we were just hoping to end up on the bottom end of their prediction range, instead of close to the top of their prediction range.

  23. We had our earliest 30 degree Celsius in Germany ever today...
