When I see people who have kids talking about this, the argument is that people had kids during world wars, Cold War/nuclear scares, and that arguably we are living in the safest time to have kids in comparison. I think a lot of these people are aware of collapse, particularly climate issues, but come from a perspective of “we survived all that and we will survive this”. A small group of people think their kids could be the ones to ‘fix’ the climate, antibiotic resistance, etc.
I felt this way when seeing Fern Gully as a child. If the adults were aware of the problem, why did they have to make Captain Planet and FG to educate us so we would grow up to fix it? Why didn't the adults that made that ish fix it?

We are just seeing warming that was expected and is part of the normal CO2 effect + El Nino. Studies and models weren't wrong, we were just hoping to end up on the bottom end of their prediction range, instead of close to the top of their prediction range.
