1. Probably either losing or being abandoned by reo. Imo if Reo doesn't perform impressively this match he's getting Locked off but Agi himself said to do that Reo has to abandon Nagi. Either scenario will lead to nagi having to lose his codependency whilst likely motivating him to do better but I do believe the latter option is way more likely than the first.

  2. nagi has lost been losing for a while and it hasn't been enough, he is still dead set on avoiding it. especially now that he has so little time... on reo i do agree that reo needs to let go of nagi and that will be a blow for nagi and i see that happening in barcha actually. reo will make it by letting go of nagi during the match, he is less likely to be locked-off than nagi. but nagi will not get the awakening people are expecting in the last match, if he does that would just be poor writing in my opinion.

  3. I kind of agree that a manshine awakening is too soon, especially after Reo basically confirmed his safety. I think he might attempt something impressive and ultimately end up failing leading to Reo scoring or some similar means of abandonment. I however also think it can be written well as if Bachira similarly to nagi calls him out on his lack of motivation and riles him up similarly to how nagi did to bachira it would be a great call back and could make sense. Especially since Nagi isn't as lazy as usual and has been actively looking for ways to gain motivation.

  4. the call back with bachira is very likely to happen but more on the lines of touching on "he doesn't need you as you are now" relating to reo not needing nagi as he is rather than nagi's own awakening. both barou and rin have said things to nagi this arc and nothing has been enough. nagi is making the conscious decision of not listening. he is not even listening to reo, so what could bachira say to push nagi? and in terms of writing it would not be good to me if bachira's words led to an awakening for nagi simply because in the scheme of things for nagi as a character, bachira means very little ie he is of no importance to nagi. this whole "a character pushes another to awakening" applies a bit differently to nagi so i don't expect that to be the case here.

  5. without going into the merits of this theory (which i fully believe to be possible as i do lean towards a drastic change for nagi) i will say that the grossly misunderstanding of nagi or character progression in the comments is actually scary.

  6. i'm glad to have answers but also i cried just from that hug how am i suppose to handle what comes next?

  7. nagi, rin, reo, isagi and maybe bachira and barou. the rest are simply not on the same level of writing as them.

  8. I personally think reo and isagi have the best writing. And why tf did I get down voted for asking a question

  9. this sub downvotes people for the weirdest things.

  10. i love this for a number of reasons.

  11. I feel like Kunigami's arc could have been done a bit better but I'm really hoping a goal is the start of a rise, similar to if Reo scores in barcha. Both characters have gone through a lot so they could use some glory.

  12. totally see your point on kunigami and reo and i agree. it seems to be the case for reo at least so here's to hoping it will be for kunigami as well.

  13. I don’t understand the hate for Rin tho. He’s not one dimensional whatsoever even when isolated from his portrayal in his light novel. There’s plenty of context clues and subtextual clues that lead me to believing that that there’s more beneath the surface of his character. His whole awakening was predicated on the fact that there’s more to his personality. His monologue at the end of u20 and before the NEL exemplifies this perfectly. If Rin finding himself amongst all of this drama he has with his brother and Isagi doesn’t interest them, then it is what it is. But to hate him for something you can’t see in him is crazy.

  14. you are so right on your points. rin is in my opinion the second best written character in the story (first one being nagi) exactly because stuff is not surface level with him and kaneshiro is clearly very careful when he writes rin. but thing is people find him "cringe" and off putting and because of those reasons they would rather hate him than trying to understand him. his journey is so good and the fact that it is still ongoing just goes to show his relevance in the story but haters don't care about that. and sadly a lot of people don't read the story for the character writing so the well written ones get sh*t all the time.

  15. Are you the strongest because you're Gojo Satoru or are you Gojo Satoru because you're the strongest?

  16. also you are such a good writer , please do more uhh theories , themes and motif posts. These posts are like a breath of fresh air for my mind

  17. thank you that's a very nice compliment, it is much appreciated!

  18. And he needs to have this feeling of being clueless, as a guy who is very reluctant to tap into his potential, Nagi has to have all odds stacked against him which might give rise to an even more ferocious beast than the other BL guys.

  19. in terms of character writing it is really well done and i cannot wait to see where it goes, i agree with you that he will be even more than other players but i tend to be biased when it comes to him 😅

  20. I won't deny this, I saw my past self in Nagi, the difference being the careers . I was kinda.... What should I say..... Surprised.

  21. think you'd be surprised also with how you're not the only one to relate to nagi, i've seen other people say the same (myself included). and i believe these are the people that actually understands the character past the "cool genius" persona that usually is the reason people like him.

  22. half of me: things are getting heated and messy and interesting NICE.

  23. to me, it is easily the best character arc in the story so far.

  24. yes! i know rin is not well liked around here but he is for sure one of the characters that you can tell the author is careful with, he is well written and his arc reflects that. is the reason i'm so excited for the next match, to finally see what comes next for rin.

  25. wait, you think the music was a issue? I mean, its of the best soundtracks in anime for me.

  26. not the music choices on itself, that was fine. but the editing. the sound effects and editing was very poor.

  27. I really like it!! Isagi looks like the big bad and Blue aura in his eyes its good. Nagi, Reo and the others also look good. I wonder how much the movie will adapt.

  28. the general idea everyone is having is that it will cover only until the end of first selection. especially considering that the manga has yet to finish the second selection.

  29. zantetsu is so funny in the spin-off i honestly can't wait for his moments in the movie.

  30. Thanks for sharing this! I’ll probably buy the digital version when that comes out since I’ve already purchased the first three volumes.

  31. that's awesome! i love the volumes because it comes with additional info that is always nice to have.

  32. that's great! i went to the bookstore the other day to get 7 and 8 there was no blue lock volumes, everything had been sold which is a great sign though unlucky for me 😅

  33. No, Reo’s whole thing is incomplete copying of other players. He doesn’t have the same speed and curvature of passes like Sae (and Rin), and while Kurona is only decent at passes at best, he makes up for the supreme quality and lack of shared vision with his speed to keep up with Isagi’s creation.

  34. no, reo's whole thing is being an all rounder with great parameters. copy is one single weapon of his. you're disregarding reo's quality as a player and reducing him to only his yet incomplete copy weapon. it would be the same to reduce isagi to his direct shots while completely ignoring his high football vision.

  35. I agree. They entered Blue Lock together as a duo which already sets them apart from the rest of the cast and probably will be continued to be written as a duo.

  36. i could not agree more with your last point. people are entitled to have their personal preferences and like or dislike a character as they want but when it comes to nagi and reo it does not give you a complete picture of the characters and disregarding what they are to each other can be a disservice to character interpretation and also your own enjoyment of their development. but well, to each their own i suppose.

  37. We are getting a movie for the spin-off BEFORE the actual u20 match or New season? Or did I miss the announcement for the u20 match?

  38. the U-20 match will be in the second season. season 2 was announced when they announced the spinoff movie.

  39. in case anyone is wondering, the text between them says: "my life was filled with boredom, until i met him."

  40. Ep. Nagi does take the time to retcon certain moments from the main series, by reframing and re-contextualizing them. Adding additional thoughts or perspective. What you infer from reading the main series is not what is inferred from reading the spin-off. That’s the literal definition of a retcon.

  41. and what was the previously established characterization that is being ignored by the spinoff if i may ask?

  42. can you elaborate on these feats please?

  43. i'm so ready to see manshine vs ubers during bastard's break

  44. This is such a... beautiful post? You can really feel the Brazilian pride or love in general put into it lol.

  45. thank you! i would absolutely love if people from other nationalities would talk about their country's references in blue lock, i think it's so cool to think about. and with brazil which is a very iconic and recognizable football it gives a lot of flair to the characters and so far i've really enjoyed the representation.

  46. perhaps the “Pele” quote that Ego mentioned is distorted specifically to highlight the main themes of Blue Lock, and that is Egoism; Ego wants to see the birth of a Japanese striker for the first time so any player who is willing to put everything on the line to be at the top is the successful product of the Blue Lock project. And in BL universe Egoism appears to be a desired trait to have for strikers

  47. yes that is all true and i agree that was ego's intention, still doesn't change the fact that he lied about it (as he lied about cantona too) to manipulate the boys into believing what he wanted them to believe. which is like a classic ego move, lying or ommiting information to manipulate.

  48. Is the newest chapter translated yet?

  49. it is translated in the k-manga app. should get uploaded in some places in the coming days.

  50. the drama is just too good bless these two for serving entertainment.

  51. love zantetsu can't wait to see him again in the spinoff and really hoping he gets to play in the pxg match. such a nice and funny character, and a great player too.
