1. Most of my thoughts have been mentioned, so in addition to what's already been said:

  2. I figured, but sharing with you and your girlfriend is still sharing. These people are strangers and if they want a private pool (and search for that specific amenity) you being there makes it not private.

  3. I distinctly remember commenting on a thread towards the end of the OG sub that was discussing the toxicity. I said I was excited to have a new space where we could snark without devolving into misogyny and criticizing appearances - this was specifically referring to Bethany. I got a ton of upvotes and support at that time, but the tide has definitely changed now. I called the same exact thing out a few months ago and people were nottttt happy with me. Super super defensive and bending over backwards to justify why making fun of women's clothes and eyebrows was actually super feminist and good.

  4. Hi! Could you please remove the mention of bans from your comment? It breaks Rule 11. Thanks!

  5. You can say "mirar televisión", but "mirar la televisión" and "mirar televisión" are not the same, the "la" means that it's a specific television

  6. Sorry for the add-on question but does it work the same in reverse with OP's other example? If there's specific music playing right now that I want to refer to, is it "escuchar la música"?

  7. When you use "la música" it means that what music are you listening is important, if you only say "música", it means the music is irrelevant

  8. At this point my hypothesis appears to be disproven! Also, why did so many answer the poll and downvote it too?

  9. I don’t think your hypothesis is disproven, a poll just isn’t the right way to measure this. I think the majority of regular posters are indeed hosts, but there are a lot of guests who see polls in their feed who can click an answer easily and move on. The actual regulars here are mostly ghosts.

  10. Could #3 be a black throated green warbler? If you’re sure it didn’t have black on its throat it could still be an immature one

  11. I have 4 sets of everything. I tried everything on the red hair dye and bronzer - oxy clean, out white brite, bleach, vinegar, zout, spray n wash, washing powder, fels naphtha. I have soaked and washed hot multiple times. They are not salvageable for guest use

  12. Secret jam parties is obviously the correct answer.

  13. The pool doesn’t work because there is a leak… with no ETA on a fix. It’s still advertised as having a pool. My question is more general - literally the “supervisor” told me it was my responsibility. I have it recorded. The host was fine - he agreed to issue a refund even though it was non refundable. But the refund is in 15 business days, i still have to book something and I’ve spent 2 hours of my vacation dealing with something that is clear cut. Is this ok?

  14. It’s not okay, but if the host is refunding you there isn’t much else Airbnb can do at this point.

  15. the problem is I don’t want to waste my time. Literally, all i expect is to book something that is as described. I can see how for many people, booking something for $1500 and then waiting for a refund means they can’t rebook because the refund takes “up to 15 days”. I’m not looking for money, I just want to have a company be responsible for their bookings. 🤦‍♀️ 🤷‍♀️

  16. Yeah, I get that. I agree that it isn’t right. That’s why I said calling again and going over their head to try to get someone to review the way their call center people are operating would help — not for your specific case, but in general, to slowly effect change in the way the company handles things.

  17. I stayed in a place with a pair of quakers once and I loved them. The host kept them in their bedroom/office unfortunately because I would’ve liked to hang out with them more, but he did bring them out into the living room a few times while I was there and I enjoyed that. But I’m a bird/animal person. They were loud as hell though, if I’d been wfh at that time and needed to work in the Airbnb it could’ve been a problem.

  18. There have been at least two Phoenix hosts in this sub recently wondering if something was wrong, if their listing wasn’t showing up in searches etc. So it’s interesting to see that this is indeed a trend.

  19. I read a story accompanied by these same pictures where he was found in a teenage boy's hands, and they were both found alive. Wouldn't he already have a name then? One of these stories has to be fake.

  20. that boy budgie is owned he has given to his realitve after rescued from rubble, this budgie is different pictures arent even the same. Owning birds as a pet is popular Turkey especially budgies and pigeons.

  21. I don’t doubt that there are multiple budgies, I just swear I saw a tweet with these exact photos — the guy with the gloves kissing the budgie sticks in the mind. But maybe they’re two real stories and the tweet I saw just mixed up the pictures.

  22. Don't cancel, the host has to cancel. They can reach out to Airbnb all they want, all they'll do is help them cancel. They can't charge you 3x the price after booking just because they don't know how to set their prices correctly.

  23. Having stayed at several places with chickens, I wonder if the host was laughing at your excited reaction. Not so cute at 4am haha

  24. Lol I disagree, they woke me up at about 5 today and they’re still cute. And still doing their thing at 8:30! We’re all awake dudes chill out

  25. Are You positive you didn’t say LAS POLLAS? That would have made me giggle

  26. I am 100% sure lol, I know the meaning and am careful to avoid mistakes like that. I will never ever ever forget the time I confused miedo and mierda.

  27. I would probably go with the one you prefer, even though it has fewer reviews.

  28. Lol I bet you could find one in Palm Springs or Orange County, they love that shit in those places.

  29. Wow what a casual and blasé way for them to announce that they’re going to fuck up your travel plans, and what an insanely rude way to respond to your understandable frustration. This person should absolutely not be a host.

  30. I was finally forced into it today too, and now I'm locked out of my EA account.

  31. Unpopular opinion: I love everyone’s look and think they are all super on brand! Yes, even lala. Yes, even Mrs shenanigans lol. This has to be my favorite I’ve seen them all dressed together

  32. Saaame I love them all and think they all look so perfectly themselves.

  33. Confession: I have never made pasta or pizza sauce from scratch. Jar sauce is so convenient and affordable and tastes just fine, I've never felt a need to bother with it.

  34. I would totally stay in an Airbnb with an angry woodpecker that terrorizes a specific window tbh

  35. Oh yes those sort of signs have been doing the rounds for years.

  36. That's what everyone has said! I didn't know they were so common, and this is like my 40 somethingth stay. This is the first sign I've seen as a guest that I didn't find tacky or pushy. I've definitely seen other signs but they've been quite aggressive/entitled in the way they demand 5 stars, this is the first one I've seen that I actually liked and thought was fair and not rude.

  37. I know it's not yours. That sign has been being sold by numerous folks on Etsy for at least 5 years now.

  38. Pretty good. I’d book if the description and photos look good and there are no red flags in recent reviews. I’ll book anything more than 4.3 or so, but more conservative people will go 4.8+. Below 4.3ish it gets pretty rough out there though.

  39. Your question is different and about super specific filters though — only allowing guests who have at least one positive review is much more straightforward. It is a filter that exists, although I’m reading about it now and it seems like it only exists for Instant Book which wouldn’t solve OP’s problem.
