1. NTA. It absolutely sucks to hear the person you love tearing themselves down anyway, but it’s even worse when they’re doing it with things that you both have. Bodies change, and that’s a wonderful part of life, although it’s hard to get your head around. I hope you both feel better soon, although it might be a long road <3

  2. NTA, you’re not telling him that he can never come home, you’re ensuring that there’s a place for him when he does come and visit, and you’re helping your daughter through one of the hardest times of her life. You’re doing an amazing job and he needs to grow up and understand that you can’t keep a room open for him on the rare occasion he comes by whilst making life more uncomfortable for everyone who actually does live there

  3. I was in the same boat! I was raised what I would call JewISH, but my family moved to an area hours and hours away from the closest shul (or other Jewish people) when I was about 9 so that’s where everything sort of stopped. I learned a lot more than I knew about Judaism in the first place before I did anything to commit, then I emailed a rabbi once I moved to a city and eventually just started hanging out with a group of mostly reform Jewish people who I absolutely adore. I actually met them because a girl told me I looked Jewish in a nightclub and I went “oh, funny you should say that!”. Obviously that’s a pretty unique experience, but I spotted that you’re a student so your university might have a Jewish Society (not sure of the American term, like a club?) so if you reach out to them then I’m sure they’ll help you.

  4. No way are you 41! You’re absolutely stunning! I don’t think you have broad shoulders, that dress really suits you and you totally own it!

  5. Snacks are now referred to as “a little nom” and scrambled eggs are backwards eggs after I got very confused in a game of Dingbats

  6. NTA, just because you’re with a girl doesn’t mean that you need to be butch. If someone is getting aggressive over something as small as having long hair or liking dresses then that’s such a red flag for what they could get angry about in future, this is definitely her telling you how she’ll continue to treat you

  7. if you think that this means i’ll stop being annoyed at the 10 year old girls in sephora, you’re wrong

  8. I know some of the local theatres, drama and musical societies often have a bit on their website about renting the space (or maybe colleges/uni too)

  9. I hadn’t even thought about theatres! I’m a student at the uni so I was thinking they might end up being my best bet if I can’t find somewhere else, thank you!

  10. That’s a great idea, thank you! I’ll get in touch with someone there

  11. I’m a big fan of “Mrs Puggle Wuggle has a square cut punt, not a punt cut square but a square cut punt, it’s round at the stern and blunt at the front, Mrs Puggle Wuggle has a square cut punt”

  12. It is! One day I'll treat myself to a proper, good one (this one is not bad though)

  13. We’re matching! Although yours seems to be in much better shape than mine, there’s wax absolutely covering mine! I’m trying to work up the courage to actually get a nice one, maybe we can take the plunge together a different year 😅 Are you part of a JSoc? I hope they’ve been supportive if so!

  14. Maybe they're on sale now and this is the time we should get it😂 not part of a Jsoc, not at uni anymore! Got it from chabad. People are generally somewhat supportive. Mostly confused. Occasionally just plain mean...

  15. I like the way you think! Mazel for finishing uni too! That sucks that people are being mean, things will get better. If you have a little community then you can definitely lean on them (and all of us online lol)

  16. Just a little LomoApparat, not a super posh one but it’s what I have the budget for ahaha

  17. Lomo cameras might be a bit crap but they’re undeniably great fun. I got to shoot a few rolls through a sprocket rocket back in the summer and it was a right laugh all the way, and printing it in the darkroom was really interesting.

  18. Definitely! The whole vibe of the diss is sort of teenager scrapbook-ish so the pictures are doing exactly what I want them to ahaha

  19. I’m not sure about the course specifically, but my mum went back to uni at 53 to study adult nursing and she’s just graduated and is loving life! You’re never too old for education

  20. it kinda reminds me of japanese lolita fashion, very fun and hyper feminine!

  21. my girlfriend is omni and we’ve been together for 3 years and are still happy as anything! she usually only eats meat when we go out because i do most of the cooking, at home she’ll maybe have some cheese on top of pasta but that’s all for animal products (and tbh that works great for me because the local shops don’t sell my fav vegan cheese so i don’t want to share 😂)

  22. I recently went to a talk by a rabbi who said that a word of support from someone non-Jewish is a thousand times louder from words of support from someone within our community, and you’ve proved it here. It feels especially scary on campus at the moment, I’m sure your words were greatly appreciated!

  23. No challah is listed in your op, OP. So challah.

  24. Luckily I have a few hours and a ton of flour 😅 thank you very much!

  25. Hit up your local market, most well stocked stores carry fresh Challot on Friday. Perhaps you won’t have to make challah this week! 😊

  26. I wish! I live in a city with a teeny tiny Jewish population, they even closed down our synagogue recently :-( Someday I’ll be able to go out and just buy some (and I can’t wait, I don’t have the patience, time or energy to make it so often!)

  27. This is absolutely disgusting. Listen to what people are saying and read a book ffs

  28. Hey! I’m a student at Dundee, what would you like to know? :-)

  29. Karma are horrible. I haven't seen a piercing done there yet that isn't squint or badly done.

  30. i know a girl who went in to get her nipple pierced and they pierced her areola instead, harrowing

  31. It’s Wednesday night, let’s wear shit shirts and get smashed!

  32. I went to 8 Yards to get everything that my brother needed for his wedding, they’re such lovely people and it’s not too expensive at all!

  33. I do this all the time! I’ll maybe get a coffee an hour, coffee shops in studenty places (like Dundee!) are always so full of people studying and staying all day, I’ve been known to hover around the doors waiting to spy an empty table so I can set up shop with my laptop and Norton anthology haha
