See this is why I don't play any open meta leagues. People have their strategy so locked down that you might as well not even try- they'll get you no matter how you play or what's on your team. Only leagues worth playing are the limited cups, and they're sadly all repeats now too.
Marrill I try to whittle down with Wooper as much as possible, I’ll usually shield once and try to catch an aqua tail/bubble beam on Seel. Shuckle you can win in all even shields. You can play for switch or shield advantage with Smeargle, though I try to play for switch when they shield it twice. Bronzor I wait one turn to see if they switch out (they do like 75% of the time, thinking it’s a mud shot Wooper), but I switch into Seel if they decide to stay in. For a Seel lead, I build up and throw the body slam, do one more poison jab, then try to catch the aqua tail on my Seel. I feel like I saw those leads a majority of the time, but please let me know if you had any other specific ones in mind.
Cool thanks. What about the scenario where they usually insta swap their bronzor or lead to a marill? Stay in? Throw once and try to catch on seel still?
Chansey’s only use is as a gym defender. It has a bad moveset, and for good reason. Chansey would be an unholy terror with that bulk and a good moveset. You could hold onto it “just in case.” But Niantic would have to be on some really strong lettuce to make chansey meta.

Chansey in limited cups is great.
Chansey dominates in evo cup. Definitely go for a hundo.
