Last cycle I applied to them and heard nothing for months. Probably 5 or so months. They randomly put me on the waitlist. Then like a month into my fall semester at the school I’m at now they sent me some cryptic email basically saying they didn’t know what to do with my app
Emailed them yesterday about my application that went complete 2/1. Their response: Thank you for your message. Your application is currently under review. We are unable to offer an exact timeline, however decisions are being made on a rolling basis and will continue over next couple weeks.
Same! It’s really off-putting and makes me not want to attend. I’ve already put down deposits elsewhere. I just want a decision because I paid $45 for my application.
It doesn’t matter who it is. This is at will employment. They can fire you because they don’t like your socks. In your case you literally told them that you will not do extra work. If their expectation is that people on a small team often pitch in when needed, then it seems completely reasonable to me. Does it suck? Yes. But there is nothing illegal or improper about it.
But let’s break it down. Why should smoke e have to keep you employed if they don’t want you part of their organization? Conversely, why should you have to stay somewhere you don’t want to? It goes both ways.
thats my only A, I have 3 WLs I am interested in and 2 schools I haven't heard from! Looks like I will be deferring one more year which is ok. I am 30 so feel like if I waited this long I might as well wait until its right.
Oh no they offered me nothing and won't budge on it and I told them candidly that what they charge and what their graduates make is so out of sync I won't even consider it
There are biglaw firms with offices in Denver, if that's what you mean. If you mean you want to work in one of the major biglaw markets (e.g., NYC), then going to law school in Denver is not a good idea.
Transferring is extremely unlikely - you should never attend a school intending to transfer at the end of 1L. Top schools take very few transfers, and those they do take are usually at the very top of their class, which you absolutely cannot assume you will be.
First, you are not old! Second, you clearly are a survivor. You have had to deal with some extremely traumatic experiences— having a parent suddenly die (at what I suspect was a young age), being in an abusive relationship and finding the strength to leave, studied for the LSAT while dealing with moving and removing yourself from an abusive relationship and beginning the healing process, getting laid off, and then taking the LSAT only a short time later while you likely were very stressed about having been laid off and also dealing with the issues that typically arise while healing from abuse and the end of any relationship. Wow, girl, that’s a lot! Give yourself credit for even taking the LSAT and applying with all that you had going on. I can’t imagine the amount of fortitude that it took. It’s ok to R&R. Take some time to breathe and take care of yourself.
You are more than welcome. And, I understand. I also was in an abusive relationship; abuse does a real number on you. I am also an attorney (although not currently practicing), so I know the rigors of law school. Please take care of yourself, mentally and physically, and take as much time as you need to regain your equilibrium. You want to be as healthy and strong as you can be to take on the challenges of law school. If you don’t, you will be taking on law school (and, the 1st year is generally the hardest) with at least one hand tied behind your back. I get that you want to get on with your life and pursue your dream. But, law schools are not going anywhere. And, it’s highly unlikely that you (or, anyone) would be able to perform to the best of your abilities if you’re not healthy. (Been there, done that; I became ill while in law school.) IMHO, R&R and trying to get admitted at schools which are a better fit is a very wise decision. Best wishes.
I called for assistance and they told me the number had to be turned off ... I live alone and no landline so have to find time to go in and deal with it
lol like this entire subreddit isn't devoted to that? And she didn't start the craziest shit storm against another girl just to get back with the guy in question? Some times ya gotta learn the hard way... life beats everybody down
Any update, OP? I'm taking the June test and I think it's impossible to start in Fall of '24 - although I'd love to. DU's site says there is no application deadline, but they highly suggest March 1st. I'll be applying to the Professional Part Time JD Program.
I got accepted to DU and like no where else lmao I'm probably going to wait because I didn't get a dime and it's insane so better to try hard next cycle
To me a cruise is worse than a bad all inclusive resort. The good is included so it's sub par but at least you're on land and can leave for other options on a boat it's their nasty buffet or tough shit 😂
Oh yeah if you dock somewhere good you can eat good places not generally in the Caribbean where the icon goes. It mostly goes to their own private island and Nassau where the options are 🤮
Congrats!!! I feel this in my bones and I always come on this page and tell people to believe in themselves! I posted on this sub in 2022 and everyone told me I’d never get in and I needed to take a year and retest etc etc. but that just was not feasible for my life. I wrote a killer PS and applied to 3 schools, had a 3.97 gpa but a low lsat score. I’m finishing up my 2L year now 😭
Grass is always greener: after working for a while you’d wonder if starting school earlier would have been better for career growth. All I can offer is just take account of where you want to be and work towards that. Looking backwards will just distract you from where you should be going
Ran here for the nipple comment lmao. It's so bad

You're joking hahaha

I just got the same hahaha
I'm still waiting on UWash and Loyola Chicago

Right .... it's disrespectful
I think you can negotiate up but I wasn't awarded anything and asked for something and was told no

Nah I know. Employment in this country is disgusting. At will is a scam
But let’s break it down. Why should smoke e have to keep you employed if they don’t want you part of their organization? Conversely, why should you have to stay somewhere you don’t want to? It goes both ways.
Contract employment and unions.
Wow - Denver is a hidden gem in terms of practice prep, but if they aren’t offering a dime of help, that’s not a good start in IMHO.
thats my only A, I have 3 WLs I am interested in and 2 schools I haven't heard from! Looks like I will be deferring one more year which is ok. I am 30 so feel like if I waited this long I might as well wait until its right.
What are they offering? If it’s a full ride then that’s amazing. Anything less and I might at least see what my other options are.
Oh no they offered me nothing and won't budge on it and I told them candidly that what they charge and what their graduates make is so out of sync I won't even consider it
They have the same exact "it factor"
Yep lol

Thank you!! Heard this before and know it but wanted to asked the world.
Wow needed to see this so badly

Thank you ❤️ I am hoping there is a light at the end of this very long dark tunnel.

Really really appreciate that ❤️ sending love. Makes me sad so many women share this experience but glad to know others have overcome
Have you tried to delete the eSIM and contract Verizon to get it back on there?
I called for assistance and they told me the number had to be turned off ... I live alone and no landline so have to find time to go in and deal with it
That’s wild
Yes I do and I'm working from it but annoying I bought a $1.5k device that doesn't work and is just sitting here
imagine being so miserable that you’re happy about someone getting punched in the face unwarranted
lol like this entire subreddit isn't devoted to that? And she didn't start the craziest shit storm against another girl just to get back with the guy in question? Some times ya gotta learn the hard way... life beats everybody down
3.31/155/ 8 years WE - abysmal cycle. Going to wait because wtf.... lol
I'm so sorry. Where did you apply
To like 14 schools. Still waiting on 3. WL at 5 and A at 1.... no scholarship money and told don't even try.

I’ve been on a couple of cruises years ago. The food was the best part.

Midnight all the lobster you can eat, you can’t beat that with a stick.
Oh yeah if you dock somewhere good you can eat good places not generally in the Caribbean where the icon goes. It mostly goes to their own private island and Nassau where the options are 🤮
A new one every week that’s just a mutated version of the previous one, to the point they don’t even make sense anymore 😂
Mines named Mildred and it's been so mutated it's now Moodie or Goo... like what 😂😂😂

Awesome thank you! And congrats again!!!
Thank you so much!!
Let's leave Remi alone for a little bit guys
Agree I've done some cringe as fuck things after a break up, let alone a first break up.
I should have been institutionalized after every break up hahahaha let her have a second
