I don’t know, not every site needs to have a draft guru. There’s a very limited amount of them actually out there and they get little respect as is. Always bugged me at grantland when Bill made Barnwell and Lowe do mock draft, that’s not what they’re there for
UNC was like +1200 to win the ACC at best and had just experienced a catastrophic failure to end the 2022 season. The alternative was to go to Bama, which was tampering hard
Agree. JJ is assertive and we have guys at the top willing to put up money in order to win. I don't view this as a matt rhule situation, but a steve nash. JJ isn't one to settle, so even if he doesn't work out as a coach, the roster and organization will likely be in a much better position the next time around.
UNC Econ grad who later worked in Corporate Development, I’m biased but choose UNC. Getting an IB job out of PSU will be harder than getting into Kenan Flagler, so if that’s your concern don’t worry about it. And it’s not impossible to get IB out of Econ either, I know several friends that did.
He honestly reminded me a lot about Bill about not just admitting his fake trade was dumb and then acting like it was absurd to look at the trade value chart “oh you’re going to pull out the chart?”
You’re pretty clearly overindexing on the only games that mattered to you. Duke was top 15 in defense and best defense UNC played last year and was probably Drake’s best game. Clemson was very similar to Caleb Williams ND game where the options were either 1) chuck irresponsible throws or 2) punt and the other team will immediately score on a piss poor defense. Drake had a very strong first half until it was clear that the team would lose if they didn’t score very possession (though Jayden Daniels and Caleb were in many similar situations and overcame that. Yeah, the NC State game was bad
Good points, and I will admit I didn't know Duke's defense was that good last year. I thought when Duke beat State, it was more of an offensive shit show than a defensive struggle. But I could be wrong. But my point still stands. His stats look good in the track meet games. Like you said, he doesn't look good in games where your options are chuck it or punt, which will happen almost every weekend in the NFL.
I think it’s more that there was some slight regression to the mean in those chuck it games, because he was so efficienct in those games his first year. His freshman year he played 9 one-possession games, and went 7-2 in those games. There was a lot of do or die drives at the end of those games where if he didn’t score, the opponent would and then win the game, and he was incredibly efficient in most of those games
I’m guessing he either had second thoughts, or Hubert avidly recruited him back after he said he was thinking of entering the portal. Probably sold him on the idea of PT with how his rotations will work.
I am fine with Bill and Co insisting on doing these weird topic months and insisting on doing every D level movie from the 90s because they were in their movie watching primes in the 90s and think every movie made then was amazing. But for god's sake can we also add in some contemporary movies? There are so god damn many movies from the 2000s and 2010s that Bill just refuses to put on the feed because he didn't rewatch these movies 25 times while blogging in his 20s
No - we are definitely interested in him. I think we have been in contact since he’s been in the portal, although I don’t think it’s the full court press that we’ve put on other players.
The Ringer is dead. Solak hasn’t a clue and is the #1 draft guy. Enough. Pack it up. Do documentaries full time.

“Drake stayed at unc even though he knew they were going to be terrible”…….they were preseason ranked 19th and a popular bet to win the ACC

But Steve Nash didn’t work out
It would be an organizational improvement to cliff
Incredibly low bar

Self, Hurley, Izzo
I’d put Few ahead of Izzo
Shocked not to see this one yet:
Brice sensabaugh
This is lessened to me purely because there have been other pro athlete sensabaughs
As an NC State alum who watched him struggle against us, I can tell you Drake Maye will not be a good NFL quarterback.

I doubt he’ll see more time next year with Ian Jackson coming in
Jackson has the size to play the 3 similar to how Cormac did. Could see Trimble backing up the point, Tyson/Jackson being our 3-men.
I think Ian will take most of his minutes at the 3, but even 5 minutes at the 2 would block Trimble from increasing his minutes

Yeah I can forward you articles if you’re a 247 premium subscriber
Thanks for the downvote. I thrive on your negativity.
I didn’t downvote you…
starting with their week 1 game in Minneapolis vs. Minnesota starting QB Max Brosmer.
He’s not even going to start for us

Shot Caller was from 2017 from a few weeks ago, but I’d never heard of it before
Nash, Kidd, Avery Johnson
Derek Fisher too

We haven’t seriously pursued and Cade is about to commit and “take” Brea’s spot. Were window dressing
His was how many credit hours he had, I believe. At least that's the rumor going around
Same exact thing applies to to Love and Davis
We played all three bigs down the stretch. Neither is a backup.
Can either Felix or Bradshaw play the 4? If not, someone is playing <20 minutes unless it’s an exactly even split
Play the 4? Huh?
4 = PF
For shame
Completes the Styles trade
Candice Parker and Anthony Parker
What is Duke's NIL situation? There lies your answer. It's all about teams buying players now.
Look at their recruiting class, they’re not hurting for money
Would have loved Ingram coming back, but happy for the man nonetheless! Now let’s bring him Tyson and Theiro!
Crystal balls have rolled in for Tyson
Yea… hate to see it. This might be a reach, but assuming this is why Jalen Withers didn’t transfer
Unrelated. Now we’re going after Thiero to replace Ingram
Took my parents to Milt’s once a few years ago because they keep kosher. We were pretty disappointed with the food.
It’s very mid
I don’t even know who I’m rooting against next year. Rivalries are way less fun when the roster is overhauled every single summer.
atleast our roster is still pretty intact. pretty sure our only transfer so far is trimble?
Okwonko too
This is easy, Cooper Flagg
I just saw Roy Williams drop to his knees on Franklin Street.
Your flairs are worse than this transfer
What’s with the continued obsession with Flagg??? It’s ridiculous by this point.
Beyond that… that’s a weird recruiting photo lol
Completely ludicrous tweet lol
He’s pretty clearly talking about ringer employees like CR and Sean
Also “plus a Trojan in my pocket, Matt Leinart.”
Nothing wrong with that line, referencing a Herman winning QB. Just a good sports reference
