1. I think the main problem here is the WSL judging.

  2. Looks to me like the handle for an exacto knife with a collet to hold a shaft instead of a blade, in which he’s putting Dremel type rotary tool bits.

  3. Good to know, thank you. I’ll try to provide more information when I pass them along to my daughter.

  4. Well doesn't the fact that you got the one as change at a liquor store tell you something about it being worth more than a dollar?

  5. Thank you for the tips. (I guess it shows I skimmed over the rules, sorry. I’ll do my due diligence when I get a few spare moments. Thanks again for taking the time.

  6. Wiggle your arms more. Try to get them over your head as much as possible for maximum speed. Do this and you’ll really start to fly down the line.

  7. Not timers. Spinners/Counters for Whist game. No idea what it's worth. just adding info. was bored

  8. Its definitely not Victorian era, those timers with it are possibly from as late as the 1950s.

  9. Thanks for the info, and I agree with you on the dice and cards. The photo quality is a bit too lacking to say for certain about the dials, but I don’t imagine they would not be Bakelite as well and no older than the rest. What are your thoughts on the case? The cards look handmade to me, but I’d not pretend to know out of what.

  10. Based on what I’ve found based on your info/link I’m going to go ahead and say this one is solved. Thanks kind internet stranger.

  11. I woulda been cool with not learning this today.

  12. Everyone is missing the obvious solution. Just get some mannequin hands and hold on to them inside the sleeves.

  13. Talk to your local printer about your issue. The correct file setup and color profile needed can vary widely. If they are a good printer they should be able to help you accommodate your needs. Depending on their policies, they may offer you a discount on a reprint but I wouldn’t count on it.

  14. TIL: People try to keep the sawdust off of them.

  15. it's pretty stupid. some people like to jack off about fiduciary duty when it really only seems to come up when the CEO or similar is actively defrauding the shareholders. Companies can and do do plenty of things that are not profitable, but can be argued to be good in the long term. Ex improving brand image and sourcing robustness via sustainability efforts. Increasing pay/ reducing turnover similarly have a huge qualitative impact. Some companies already understand that and act on it

  16. Sounds like your confusing trips to the beach with surf sessions. In order for it the be considered a surf session, you first have to know how to surf.

  17. Tell me your a kook without saying you’re a kook.

  18. I too came here for this comment. *high five

  19. Last image, bottom right. Looks like that kid is being made to observe these robosexuals against her will.

  20. Came here to say, looks like some sinister shit is is going down in the background of 6/6.

  21. You’d be surprised at the level of print quality people will be willing to except, and there are image enlargement softwares available that can do a decent enough job for many people. Especially if they or someone they know have decent enough photoshop chops to remove a watermark. (I run a sign company that does large format printing, you’d be amazed at the tiny images we get to be printed at 6’ and larger.)

  22. That's fair, nothing is impossible in the end. I'll be more careful next time, this thread gave me a lot of good pointers to improve my billing process so it's a sad loss but I'll come out stronger :D

  23. Yes, you do. That’s where it gets surprising at what some people are willing to accept. There are softwares that uses various ways of pixel generation based on surrounding pixels that I don’t exactly understand that can do pretty decent jobs at enlarging images. Even Photoshop basic image resolution adjustments can do a decent job at smaller increments. Also, if the image isn’t going to be somewhere it can’t be viewed closely like up high or behind a barrier it becomes more difficult to discern the reduced quality.

  24. Surf Is Where You Find It: Gerry Lopez

  25. He’s so haole he doesn’t even know he’s haole

  26. Beat it haole buddy! Dee’s are our waves!

  27. I would suggest finding a local small business that would be willing to do one offs/small runs. Especially if you’re going to be particular on quality of garments and quality control with the prints.

  28. I’ve learned from experience, once you cross a certain level, which I believe you have, no one else really ever notices those imperfections.

  29. NGL. I was getting mad after the 3rd time trying to read the 459 comments but it would only show me the picture and not the comments…

  30. Second chuckler here. Already doubled your return on your investment.

  31. As a graphic artist, I can offer some cold hard critiques. You’re off to a nice start, but ultimately your logo should be designed for your target market, rather than yourself.
