Always position to shadow tm's wiff cutting you off. Next play? Fake a flick. By placing the ball on your hood in a controlled manner you have enraged tm. They will hunt you. Drop the ball off your back and take the 50. It will pinch with the furry of 1000 suns into the net. Ez win.

Practicing the 360 wavedash flick. Any tips for it? This is the closest I’ve gotten to the flick.

Got to 9/10 wins and proceeded to go on a 5 game skid in doubles down to D3. Switched to 3s and lost 2. Did the ole’ “1 more game” and hit Champ season rank for the first time ever! A lot of work to be done, but I’ll take it! Haha

How to improve at getting the ball to "stick" more? More info in comments.

Poor fella, I'm a buy him a drink.
Long story short I’m a C2 comp freestyler w 4.5k hours (3.8k in training lol). Finally decided to make the switch to ARR from nonbounded air roll and I’m losing my mind. I’m debating switching back just cause I could hit practically any shot w normal air roll (from 3x flipreset to ceiling stall musty DT) where as a two touch air dribble is now out of my skill set. I understand the benefits of ARR with being able to adjust ur pitch while air rolling but is that worth being a bronze in mechanics for another 4k hours? Also any tips to learn it faster would be greatly appreciated (no workshops, I’m on console)
We have 8 fingers and 2 thumbs and we need them all to have at least one dedicated button underneath them, maybe skip the pinky because it's too bound to the ring finger. Why controllers have the thumb both on stick and 4 buttons is beyond me.
They sell controllers with paddles. The one I bought has 4 paddles on the back, one for each middle/ring finger.
Do you find that they push the controller up and out of your grip when you activate them? Seems like resting two fingers on the shoulder buttons does that to me. Overall not a fan of standard controller layouts. Great for casual gaming, but this is eSports. Dabs then again, I've never tried paddles.
Dammit but I do stuff real good from that one side tho :(
I think alternating like this helps remind yourself of what you're capable of, so you're not just punishing yourself with failure over and over.
I've noticed that a lot of my plays were good or bad in ranked based on what direction I'm starting the play in. Lots of bad habits in freeplay coming back to bite me. To fix it I've started changing how I rotate in freeplay to either keep attacking the same goal, or alternate which goal but keeping the same wall. The point is to balance your offensive skill equally on either side.
This applies to sweet potatoes as well.
Please give it full-sized buttons like the PS4 controller. Small buttons hurt over time.
If I had a million dollars, bnl
Turn off the voice chat push to talk controller/key binding in controls settings. It causes stutter because of whatever button it’s bound to.
That's it

Plat is the easiest to get out. Just stay in defense, learn basic saves, let the others score the goals (they'll be all the time in offense anyway).
Same for me. I shot out of gold and pushed right through plat, defended the whole way up.

Edit: He’s right! It doesn’t make any sense but he’s absolutely right.
There is a spot where the ball rests perfectly.

This guy started deliberately own-goaling when we we're 0-2 down and 2 minutes left. Just throwing a tantrum. I didn't let him ff for spite. Time to do drills. We both did circuits around the field. Because my path is shorter I can cut him off and steal his boost, but he'd likely just leave his machine at that point so I race him instead. I think we were 11-0 before the other team got bored of 3v1. Sick bastards. That 1v dude is a hero. Without a way to ruin at least 2 other peoples day this guy had no purpose. He also has no speed. This is why I'm diamond 1 in 3s. Just no way to escape the cloud that fogs tm's noodle. When I slow down to make my rotations simple I get cut off. I go from having amazing position and so much threat to shadowing the touch my tm throws themselves across the field to take the ball away from me toward the opponents. I play extremely aggressively and speed up my rotations then this happens. Pouty boy. Whatever. I'm holding that boost button down until things make sense. He can sort himself out.
In place of black magic fuckery, you could also incorporate my favorite recipe for those sweaty moments.
Here's where I'm finding my black magic fuckery :
Nice! I got my purple rewards for the first time this season. Feels good.
Instead of many fine adjustments (causes bouncing), one well timed correction. Also, sticking isn't all that. Practice finding the flick from a bounce. Touch the ball going up as it's coming down, glancing past it. That'll setup the flick without ever needing a rest. Much more dangerous.
"Touch the ball going up as it's coming down". Could you elaborate?
If you get a gentle bounce going you can time your jump to meet the ball as it's coming down. It allows your car and the ball to sync up after the contact. Typically I'm putting the nose down to reduce the bump from the contact. Then I assess what kind of flick I can perform. If I'm lucky a reverse 45, or anything with a backflip. If I'm less lucky a front flip. You need to be able to pull a variety of flicks because each setup will be different. Or you can drill baby drill and learn how to get consistent bounce flicks.
This joke functions as a "scenario, extreme response" sort of thing. With a self mocking awareness.
Elloel. Double you tea eff.
Everywhere I look, something reminds me of her.
