  21. LLPSI is definitely still the go to. Familia Romana, Colloquia Personarum, and Fabulae Syrae (i dont personally have it but alot of people seem to reccomend it.) exercitia latina is also reccomended although “pigerrimus sum” and dont do them. The main book has grammatical lessons at the end of each chapter but i find it helpful to use a grammar book alongside it but not technically needed.

  22. I apologize if this is a dumb question, but the first three books you mentioned (FR, CP, and FS) all appear to be entirely in Latin (at least from a quick google search). I get that's kind of the point, and immersion is the best teacher, but I've never found textbooks entirely in the learned language to work well on me. Am I mistaken, or is the method still effective in an all-Latin edition?

  24. Not really, alot of things affect how fast something ferments (yeast type, temp, nutrients etc.) for me a 1.110 Starting gravity with d47 around 68-70 degrees takes about 2 weeks.

  27. so... is it dangerous...? I was asking if anything with my process could be wrong and lead to a different result than that of store-bought alcohol. like methanol poisoning or other dangerous stuff home-made alcohol can technically accidentally do.

  28. I think your biggest worry would be from off flavors due to unknown bacteria. Get some no rinse cleaner (starsan is the gold standard, but i use onestep due to my state not liking starsan), and a proper fermenting vessel with an airlock. Also get a hydrometer, as it makes life so much easier when wondering if its done fermenting or seeing what your ABV is.

  29. Not even. Methanol and ethanol are too similar in boiling point to be separated by a typical still. You would need a lab-grade fractional distillation setup to separate them and even then it’s difficult.
