1. 4 changed a ton of things and it was one of the biggest complaints people had of the game when it was released

  2. No it absolutely did not change a ton of lore, and that absolutely was not one of the biggest complaints people had.

  3. Is the creative director and co-founder (definitely not CEO) wearing the shirt of a band made by a Nazi over six years ago, after which he apologized over six years ago, really the best proof we have they the company is racist? It’s such a non-controversy I had to dig deep to even find out what happened.

  4. That might be believable if the innocent reasoning for his game design didn’t make sense, but it does make sense.

  5. They are referring to the credits render, which shows an area (that seems to be the Strip) completely destroyed.

  6. I am not sure if its controversial or not but:

  7. I’m extremely glad Helldivers 2 isn’t a campaign based game with no live service elements. That would basically be the opposite of its current appeal.

  8. The show runners never said what that commenter claimed, nor did they say what you claimed.

  9. I'm with you. Karl Urban was wasted in Dredd - no eyes, no voice...no acting! But apparently everyone else loved it. I just don't get it.

  10. Is this a joke? Karl Urban is speaking and acting throughout the entirety of Dredd.

  11. They’re literally all proving him right by downvoting a fact which is Reddit is designed to purposely create echo chambers.

  12. People are probably downvoting OP because they responded to a comment pointing out obvious flaws in their post by ignoring the flaws and complaining about echo chambers.

  13. Which part do you this is incorrect? That OP’s post has obvious flaws, that OP ignored the part of the comment pointing them out, or that the ignoring is why they were downvoted?

  14. I get it. I'm the same it's not even a comparison it's just that FO feels hokey in a way I just can't take seriously.

  15. Everything worth knowing lore wise is obviously not obtainable within the first hour of each game. By hour one in 3, New Vegas, and 4 you’re not even introduced to the main factions. Obviously very early game lore isn’t going to surprise anyone who’s watched the show, it’s doing the same setup the show did.

  16. Or maybe they just think it’s a pretty great game? If technical problems are your “objective” criteria for what makes a game middling, it’s easily better than Bethesda’s previous games and New Vegas.

  17. Yeah, this… know it faces the opposite direction and place accordingly.

  18. I highly doubt that clipping into walls after using the screen when it’s near a wall is intentional.

  19. You're rationalizing flaws. Why would having armed bodyguards make them easier targets than they already were? The movie even makes the point that armed militias are more common place with gas station and the idyllic town where they stopped to shop.

  20. Having armed bodyguards would make them a target because they were under the protection of their press badge, which means that they do not have weapons and are not any threat. This is the reason they were allowed through the military checkpoints and were not targeted by most of the militias. This seemed pretty clear in the film.

  21. Except for the part where they are targeted by a soldier who murdered their friends sure. And no that was clear in the film. You're projecting that into their actions.

  22. Projecting that the press wouldn’t be allowed to pass, and would experience substantially more trouble, if they had armed security?

  23. What map are you referring to? The one I've seen -

  24. You’re right about Colardo and Missouri. However, I’m 99% sure that map was made by a fan based off of the reflection in the trailer. It inaccurately labels the northwest states as WF.

  25. Most of the journalists are portrayed as reckless desensitized adrenaline junkies out for fame, so that doesn’t really seem true.

  26. Yet 47 of the states sided with him? From the sound of it only Florida, Texas and California seceded

  27. "disposable income" meaning income that goes back to price gouging businesses and landlords?

  28. If you don’t want to give your disposable income to landlords or businesses you can just hold onto it. That’s why it’s called disposable income, you don’t have to spend it.

  29. What are you talking about? If you have to spend it on rent then it’s by definition not disposable income, it’s not included in the tally you’re complaining about.

  30. That's a bit like saying "there's no oil company conspiracy to pollute the environment", which is a statement that is both true and naive.

  31. The popularity of video game adaptations has absolutely nothing to do with studios manipulating audiences, or any other weird theory. They are popular because people like the worlds, characters, and stories, and because the adaptations have often been very good.

  32. There has not been a single good videogame adaptation film so far that I'm aware of.

  33. I’m sorry to hear that you haven’t liked any of the film adaptations. TV game adaptations like The Last of Us, Fallout, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Arcane have received wide critical acclaim and massive viewership.

  34. TGA is by far the largest gaming-only awards show, and hosts the largest number of voting outlets, so it’s undeniably pretty important.

  35. I’m sorry you don’t think gaming awards are important, though I’m not sure what that brings to this discussion.

  36. You can instantly teleport back to the chopper on anything but main missions.

  37. Everyone in the gaming community who's passionate about games I'd say has a hot take so bad it's considered heresy/treason/blasphemy, and this is the strange and weird hill I'm willing to die on:

  38. I’m not arguing with your take on the quality of Skyrim, I’m saying that your assessment of why it’s popular is pretty obviously untrue.

  39. Your examples of good foundation are a grindfest, a game that's popular because of the modding scene, and a bad game that's still only okay because of its modding scene? Okay.

  40. Skyrim is absolutely not only popular because of its modding scene. It sold record amounts of copies on seventh generation consoles alone, where it had no modding capabilities. Not to mention the massive amounts of PC players who never touched modding.

  41. These were some popular youtubers back in the 2014-2017 (maybe up to 2019, not sure) time stamp. From what I remember:

  42. Destiny going back in time to transform his old debates into podcasts to as promotion for his new podcast.

  43. I don’t think Zach Snyder is referencing accidental friendly fire and injury complications, when he had Batman mow people down with machine guns.

  44. I think it’s funny how a lot of people don’t realize that Superman kills a lot of people when dealing with other powerful super villains. Same thing with Batman, it’s just casualties of fighting crime. I reckon these people assume comic book worlds are supposed to be sunshine and rainbows

  45. I’m not sure the “casualties of fighting crime” defense is going to hold up after he intentionally shoots and crushes a dozen random goons like in BvS.

  46. Seeing it in the same vein with that new Civil War movie coming out. Seems like the media is conditioning the US for November to get people to think these things are acceptable.

  47. That is not the point of Civil War whatsoever, it’s the exact opposite, and we have no idea if that will be the point of this film.

  48. Well the description of the movie sounds not great in regard to the subject matter. Just the Google search came up with rebel factions descending on the white house. Haven't seen the movie. No idea on how everything is portrayed but just odd for it to come out an election year after all that has happen since the Jan 6 incident. Just a lot of coincidences.

  49. The movie is not at all supportive of a civil war, and is explicitly a warning against it. This is made obvious in the trailer, let alone the film itself.

  50. Yes he is. This is why DarkViper is unable to comment on it. Karl has literally had his critics silenced, not to mention going after innocents like Mitchell.

  51. I don’t know why you’re on the DarkViper subreddit if you’re going to support a guy who’s actively endangering him and his family.

  52. Insensitivity isn't a big deal but the movie represents itself as being empathetic to him for his mental illness and then goes and throws out the most harmful stereotype there is and based it movie on that. It shows a blatant disrespect for the community it claims to champion. It's fodder for the "violence is caused by mental illness" crowd.

  53. Joker claims to champion the mentally ill community? I must have missed that tagline in the trailers.

  54. I was looking forward to responding to your deleted reply.

  55. How can you be this angry that somebody likes to experience and talk about a TV show alongside everybody else? You’re really going to insult them for that?

  56. Neither weekly nor all at once provide more “accurate numbers”, that doesn’t make any sense. Both methods are going to gain some viewers and lose others, neither is more accurate.

  57. That's a solution, sure, but actively complaining about the difficulty impeding the major order while insisting on playing at max difficulty is just stubborn and dumb

  58. It doesn’t seem that dumb. If you lower the difficulty you’re going to have 2 missions that are way too easy and 1 that’s still pretty difficult, all giving lower medals, which doesn’t seem fun.

  59. Game is plenty fun when it's not punishingly difficult and it's okay to take a break from grinding max rewards every second you play

  60. I don’t think the game is plenty fun when playing a difficulty that provides no sense of challenge and a lower reward.

  61. Environmental effects are temporary and you can also just, you know, not play on these planets if it frustrates you so much. There are planets out there that don't have deadly Environmental hazards.

  62. People are often just choosing to not play evacuation missions, and quit when they see them. It’s not really a long-term solution though, the game is designed to promote completing all three missions.

  63. I am almost entirely sure these missions are designed to be extremely difficult for lore purposes, so that we lose this order and the bots or whatever faction advances.

  64. These missions have been broken difficult from launch, regardless of if there even is a major order. It’s got nothing to do with the lore, and the galactic map has no impact on their difficulty besides hazards.
