1. You'll be fine. A com res isn't a criminal conviction, does not result in a criminal record and is only held on the local police systems.

  2. Smoking is as engrained in our society as drinking. I don't support a ban as it wont work. I would just tax the hell out of cigarettes and provided that I'm not forced to breathe it 2nd hand, the info about its harm is out there and its your call.

  3. I do 70.3 triathlons on a gravel bike with 28mm tyres and clip on aero bars. Gravel vs enduro road bike geometry is very similar and you will be absolutely fine. Maybe some weight but until you're digging for every gain possible a few extra grams isnt a big deal.

  4. Thank you! The problem is that mine would need to be a consistent 38mm right ? Or am I able to go smaller than my gravel mm, without getting a new wheel ? This is all new to me !

  5. You would need to measure the internal width of the rim to find out how narrow you can go. If it helps, mine came with 32 or 34mm (I forget as they came straight off before the pedals went on) stock tyres and I didnt have an issue mounting 28mm. Maybe wander down to your bike shop and ask them to have a look if you're unsure. A lot of people are moving to thicker tyres and 30mm is increasingly common, you just dont want them popping off the rim whilst you're riding.

  6. Changes depending on time of the year. At the moment its close to the 2.5hr mark that it becomes a "you will be happy about this later" kind of deal.

  7. They often flash when another lorry is overtaking to indicate that the passer has cleared them.

  8. Diet is my enemy and probably will be forever. I know how, that I can and that it works when I do it right. Yet here I am, carrying around 10kg more than an acceptable weight for me.

  9. Get into exercise of some sort. Cycling, running and swimming are easy to do by yourself on any evening or day you have an hour spare.

  10. I would only say it is a bad thing if you dont like it. It is entirely normal for to talk about things that take up a lot of your time be that a hobby, your job or family as examples. As for a bad session affecting your mood only you can control that. Bad sessions are inevitable and not always within your control. As you have more and more of them as you continue to train they become less impactful as you learn that it isnt the end of the world and just a frustrating part of the journey.

  11. More saddle time will speed you up. You can look at doing intervals if you want to push harder and get the numbers up.

  12. Can you imagine how much heat you would be getting if your crime reports took nearly 5 years to get to court?

  13. Completing a 70.3 is already out of the scope of normies, sub 6 is a great result and he just sounds like an ass. Well done on the result.

  14. -10 not even close. I run hot at the best of times and if it's cold you can just layer up.

  15. You're in the clear and calling the police was the right call.

  16. Can you? Yes. Should you? Only if you want to hate your own existence for the entire time. On the plus side you should be able to find people to hand you stuff so can re-fuel easily.

  17. Its April 1st and I'm very on edge... Seriously though, instead of criminalising some of our most vulnerable wouldn't it be better to support them into not being homeless?

  18. Fantastic change and well overdue. Good luck in your new SLT role.

  19. Good fitting boots, decent socks and your inserts will go some way but after standing for a while most peoples feet will start to hurt. Just being on your feet more will help delay the onset so try walking or running in your spare time as this will develop the musculature of the foot and lower leg. Both also have benefits for general fitness and wellbeing so is a real win win.

  20. I bet the first time you went for a really long bike ride or hard run it hurt afterwards too. Doing it more often and all the usual rest and proper nutrition will get you on track.

  21. Or the alternative headline "Years of effort to break the NHS has worked".

  22. I thought we were only getting 1 walker in standard sets now?

  23. Call your insurer to notify them. You were rear ended so unless you were doing something particularly egregious its on them. Their insurer should contact you about it but you'll need their details.

  24. Non petroleum based runner grease has seen me through my 70.3's as a hairy and sweaty bloke. Find one you can get hold of easily and use it on long runs to find out if it works.

  25. Rest days are important and so is good progressive training. For a new runner, 3 times a week is a good amount and a 10% distance or time increase per week will allow you to adapt and absorb the training whilst avoiding injury.
